Sometimes I wonder if WM realizes that his team will fall behind in the score from time to time, and that his current offense will keep it behind almost no matter what the defense does.

Muschamp seems to demand perfection on defense and accepts mediocrity on offense. That is not a coach I want at UF.

Do we need volunteers for $2 million per year?

It appears his priority is definitely defense. He knows it, he has a passion for it, he wants to have the best unit in the country and recruits the best players that can help him and gets them on the field ASAP.

Offense - not so much. If he was that into offense, his actions would show it like they have for defense. At the games I've been to I've seen him get right into the defensive huddles on the sideline drawing up Xs and Os and coaching them up. Never saw him do it for the offense.

Agree in principle, but cmon, no coach is okay with mediocrity on any side of the ball. These guys are perfectionists.

Interesting. Does that imply he's not comfortable/proficient enough to do that with the offense? That doesn't seem to jibe with what I read about how he may sometimes overrule a play call during the game.

Close but not quite. He wants perfection on defense and efficiency on offense. Hold onto the ball, move the chains, score, eat clock and keep his defense fresh. He's not quite there, but he is getting there...

Some of you are really nutso with your comments on muschamp.

I mean come on... you think he doesn't demand perfection on offense? YOu think he doesn't want to score points and win games?

Yeah, i'm suuuure he doesn't care if the offense is mediocre (rolls eyes).

I don't know why people keep missing this, but UF was conservative on purpose last year, and the games where they had the most turnovers were games where they opened it up a bit and took some chances.

This year, the offense is a bit better, and against Miami, they took some chances, and actually tried to make plays on third down instead of running and kicking FGs. It bit them in the face.

I wish Muschamp was actually as conservative as all you think he is. We would have won last week.

Driskel + pressure = bad things happening. Until JD improves his consistency, we will struggle on O. The pass he missed to a wide open Dunbar in the endzone was an easy toss to make.. Next play he throws the pic. Too many bad passes, and fumbles. JD has all world potential, a strong arm and great athletic ability. If he doesn't take the next step, our O won't take the next step.. It's that simple.

I disagree we ran play action to get the LB to bite inside so it would be an easy throw but Denzel Perryman didnt bite read the play and stepped in the passing lane

That should be a somewhat touch pass. There was a rather large window, as Dunbar had Perryman quite few yards in front of him and no one behind him.. Jeff threw a Ryne Duren fastball that missed Dunbar by a mile. In reality, it wasn't a difficult throw to make.

Almost no mater what you say?

This offense is possibly better than last year, and that one came from behind vs. Bowling Green, aTM, UT, LSU, ULL, Vandy, Missouri and FSU.

...and turnovers are the reason we didnt last Saturday. The game plan was plenty good enough to win.

I agree it was a touch pass but I dont know how large the window was. There is a reason they have play action on that play. I do think the throw could have been made but it seems Jeff was trying to live for another down once the Lb didnt bite. The problem is he didnt throw it away on the next down too.

This is the key, and almost all that UF has done in 2012 and so far this year can be tied to turnovers.

Two of UF's biggest wins last year, USCe and FSU, were the result of getting turnovers.

v LSU, we needed a ridiculous forced turnover by Matt Elam to preserve that win.

In our worst losses to UGA, Louisville and now Miami, we gave those teams the game with multiple turnover games, many either in our red zone or that led to pick sixes or easy scores.

If you look at how UF has done in its last 15 games, one can reasonably conclude that the ONLY thing that matters is turnovers.

Based on actual results, UF does not lose if it turns the ball over 2 times or less.

Idiotic comments on Muschamp's alleged lack of interest in or of high standards on offense.

Come on people, don't be THAT FAN.

it is hilarious, they are trying to convince themselves that a coach doesnt want a great offense

Who does Muschamp think he is, with this silly idea that defense wins championships?

Where in the world did he EVER get that idea?
