Good job, AS. Thanks!
I hope UF and Tenn get to settle this on the field.
Thanks, AS. We don't get the ESPN tv feeds down here in Mexico City; however, I do get the audio feed through GatorVision. I wasn't able to listen to the entire game, because I had a morning appointment with INM (Mexican Immigration) in regard to renewing my residency permit, but I did catch the last two innings and was able to hear the broadcast of Merritt's home run which put the Gators up 7-4.
However, I'm not sure whether the last run was scored as a sac fly or an error on Bama. As I understand the sequence of events, the Gator batter popped up a ball in foul territory. A Bama player then caught the foul ball but suffered a brain cramp, apparently forgetting that a Gator was on third base, and failed to turn around and promptly throw the ball home.
In any event, congratulations Ladies. I understand that the Gators will play the winner of the LSU/UGa game tomorrow. Is that correct?
One more thing. Is the new "Lady Gator" forum GC's attempt at "separate but equal"?
The final run wasn't as blatant as it may have sounded. The first baseman made a nice play, over the shoulder catch with her back to the plate. She also dodged another player also slicing in to try and make the catch. She really only took one step and relaxed for a split second before turning and throwing. It might have been close, but no guarantee she had the out at home regardless.
