So you are a stoner and are trying to make a stoner point, such as that smoking marijuana is not actually a stoning act, done to get stoned, or something ?

    Of course it is.

Drinking a single glass of wine every night, may be also. But it also may not.

I think that point - coming from a non-stoner - is that "stoned" requires a certain amount of consumption, as does "drunk" and at lesser levels has a negligible impact on, well, anything.

No, I'm a liberal trying to show that your conservatives views on marijuana don't really hold up.

I think he was referring to the fact that financial institutions are prohibited by federal law from knowingly taking the proceeds of drug transactions. Just a guess though.

Actually, I am not a conservative when it comes to my views on drugs, especially marijuana.

But I am not blind to the truth, either, i.e., that when people smoke pot, they smoke it to get high. There's no other reason, and that reason may indicate a problem.

Whether they do so in the morning, noon, or night.

People can smoke some pot to mellow out and people can drink a couple of glasses of wine to mellow out. I will say that while you can also enjoy the taste of wine I don't think most people would smoke pot for the taste. In the end though it has been my experience that people drink mainly for the effect. I would guess that a very small percentage of people drink solely because they like the taste.

Well, you and I don't want to get into the "way back" machine and start comparing notes, but I do suppose it is somewhat hip now to do a doob and call it mellowing out instead of calling it "getting high," "stoned," or "buzzed," or any other number of descriptions for intoxication by cannabis.

Of course, mellowing out is to experience an intoxicating effect, which, of course, is the purpose of the exercise. Wine, I agree, one could do it for the taste and not so much for the "mellow." Depends on how big the glass is, I suppose.

We called it mellowing out in the way, way, way, back times. We also called it a lot of other things.

    "Mellow Yellow"
