The one year they had to replace 12 starters under Saban was in 2010, and they finished 10-3. They weren't in the hunt that year, and that was Saban's fourth year in the system. He didn't have a boatload of spread option guys he was trying to convert to prostyle offense, and he didn't lose his quarterback, either. He also had Mark Ingram and Trent Richardson at RB, along with a solid OL. Their losses, like ours, was on defense, and they remained strong, if not overpowering...

Not me, there's always fans who ride with whatever the coaches bring, and there's always fans who want more. That's part of being a fan base, the bandwagoners I do not care about, but I can respect either fans who just go with it, or want more.

This is not really a thing.

If Muschamp came in and had the Pouncy twins, Louis Murphy and Aaron Hernandez, his pro style offense would do just fine.

Kinda like the difference between climate and weather. A north Florida cold snap does not mean G'ville is polar. Yes, this year's team is not championship caliber. That does not mean that the UF program is doomed to decades of being 7-4 (as much as our rivals would LOVE that).

It is cyclical everywhere, we'll be back...

I remember a very similar article in the Miami Herald right after the 99 season I believe - and we had Spurrier then.

Good chance to drop off the fans that only like us when we win.

Heck, the fans were up in arms as well, especially after losing three in a row to FSU, the beatdown against Alabama, and that damned Plaxico Burress. Spurrier was begging fans to fill up the Citrus Bowl...

I think WM has a 4 - 9 record against the ranked teams because I recalled seeing the stats during the LSU game around the halftime... someone stated he was 4 - 8 (was before the game was over.) Could anyone verify as which one is correct? please, thanks.

Either of that doesn't look good although he had almost an even record in his first year to be fair.

Yes, he must fix the offense or his losses will pile up quite considerably thus losing the recruiting potential for the UF offense ahead. So it should consider the Gator nation even more IF we keep losing to foursome (Mizzou, GA, SC, and FSU). We should not take Mizzou lightly (seriously).

There's a reason windshields are so big and rear view mirrors are so small.

    You miss the point.

Given a high level of talent, the issue isn't whether he, or any other coach, could produce a winning record.

The issue is: Given the same talent as other coaches, would his teams be as good as they would have been under a different coach?

Given a lower level of talent, or injuries, the issue is not whether his teams would have a poorer record than they would with more talent and fewer injuries.

The issue is whether some other coach would do better given the same talent or the same amount of injuries.
