Programs like Oregon and Stanford are what I like to call nationally relevant, not elite.

There's a difference...Clemson is nationally relevant right now, but their football program is hardly elite.

UF is an elite program struggling to become nationally relevant once again.

Give me a break. They did not win the Big Ten last year and did not play in a bowl game. This year their schedule is pathetic. If you bought into this article, I've got some swamp land to sell in northern MN.

And we haven't beaten "elite" LSU since 2012.

No, give ME a break. The only reason they didn't win the Big 10 or play in a bowl last year was they were on probation. Their schedule this year is indeed weak but they have beaten everyone so far. The article points out some uncomfortable facts some don't seem to want to acknowledge.

You appear to be changing your angle from OSU is elite to they are perceived as being elite. Maybe if we need to be seen as elite, we can trade for their schedule.

Sometimes it feels as though that Louisville loss did like two bad seasons worth of damage to our reputation.

And there's no reason to assume they would have won the Big Ten championship or a bowl game. I'll give you a break: what are their "elite" victories?

And beating the weak teams on their schedule (other than NW) means nothing in terms of being elite.

I don't like it and its not really "fair" but the reality is they are perceived to be elite and we are not. Yes their schedules are easier but the mediots have never seemed to care about that. All that matters is that we are losing ballgames regularly and they are not.

Ooohhh my team doesn't fit the vague, subjective and meaningless label proffered by someone whose opinion I really don't care about anyway! And because I can't differentiate between my team and myself I'm hopping mad. How dare he say that about me my team!!

Agreed. And we would have to ask what OUR record would be if we had OSU's schedule...

and look closer at some of the scores of those games against weak teams last season. Becomes even less "impressive." Oh how I wish OSU had been able to play bama somehow last year. Cryer may have keeled over at the mere though of the midget that chased him out of the SEC coaching against him again. Would have at the very least needed to spend more time with the family.

May get your wish this year, and Meyer may get a recurrence of esophageal spasms.

    My point exactly as well...

    Recruits see a pattern...

Muschamp MUST fix it during the offseason...

I agree with that as well...

However, I will add the fact that F$U and scUM right now have things moving along...our rival in-state teams where we recruit the same players...

Muschamp needs to show me that he will make O a priority during the offseason...otherwise he is gone...and we will get a dreaded Thursday night game in 2015...that is not elite...:)

Considering we lost 13 starters, 19th isn't that bad this year. Do you expect double digit wins EVERY year, irregardless of circumstances?

replacing starters with highly ranked recruits--UF should be higher than #19.

We may not be at the top right now, but we're not far from it!
Weren't we last year in a Bcs bowl? How many teams get bcs berths? Come on jump off the roof!

An experienced three star is usually better than a green four or five star. Talent is NOT talent, and the Percys of the world do not grow on trees.

Again, when Florida loses 12+ starters, they average 8-4, regardless if the coach is Spurrier, Zook, Meyer or Muschamp. 8-4 teams are not top ten teams.
