I think we are more talented than that. I think Patton can be very effective and certainly deserves more than "cute little toy". KT appears to be very talented. TB, while probably not going to be a world beating deep threat is a very versatile athlete who is an effective possession receiver. TM has come out and done well for the team in a difficult situation. What you took as a "cute little shot at the staff" was in response to you completely disparaging the current players. Injuries, # 5 and #7, and Meyers recruiting are going to be next years "11-2".

He may have missed Mullin more than Harvin, based on the fact that the 2008 offense could still put up points even when Harvin was injured.

This thread seams to have been hijacked by another bashing of our offence but the original topic was us dressing 13 players on defence. Is this a true statement ? If it is that is incredible especially when we get player ejected on first play

    Can anyone confirm this?

I'm confused by this comment as Harvin missed one game, the SEC Championship, a game in which our offense didn't flow right and had numerous three and outs, and most Gators felt we squeaked that game out (entered the fourth quarter trailing Bama) at that time. This isn't to take anything away from Bama but to point out that our problems were more than simply a reflection of playing a good opponent. Besides, we still put up points in 2009, it just looked more like our game against Bama where we were pounding a square peg in a round hole but succeeding because we had the bigger mallet.

    Wanna bet? Here's a list:

    1) schedule. Bama, Tennessee, FSU on the road
    2) inexperience. Roberson and Purifoy both leave for the NFL. So does Powell. Suddenly we've got an experienced secondary. No game experience at WR
    3) Recuits were over-rated. Meyer's class would be seniors and we're missing that leadership. Wait 'till Boom's first class becomes seniors.

    and then the basics:
    Refs are against us
    ESPN doesn't like us
    Fla/Ga should be in Gainesville

If you like the coaching staff, there will always be reasons. If you don't they'll always seem like excuses.

Maybe it's an example of a coach who is trying to have the team ready for next year when UF's main competitors are losing their starting QB's - Alabama, LSU, Georgia, South Carolina, Missouri, and Texas A&M (likely.) Additionally, these teams are losing other impact players - South Carolina (Clowney & Sutton), Alabama (Mosley, Clinton-Dix, Kouandjio, Hubbard, Depriest), Texas A&M (Evans, Ogbuehi, Matthews), Georgia (Swann), Missouri (Ealy), LSU (Johnson, Loston.)

I would assume he's not building for one year & is getting all of the pieces in place for a multi-year run.
