Ok, you established that your'e not very good at math and that they had a rotten apple in the program. You've shown that their attendance was down in 2012. Not even the best program in the history of college basketball is perfect.

Blue Blood or Powerhouse? A team can still be a Blue Blood without currently being a Powerhouse but I don't think a team needs to be a Blue Blood to be considered a Powerhouse.

Blue Bloods are like families with old money and while they had to be Powerhouses at some point it isn't necessary for them to continue to be a Powerhouse year in, year out to still be considered a Blue Blood.

By the same token, current non-Blue Blood Powerhouses are like the nouveau riche...they can become a Blue Blood but it takes time. In the meantime, they must remain a Powerhouse with few lapses until they finally reach Blue Blood status.

Sometimes I catch myself enjoying our success. Then I remember that we weren't good a long time ago and I quit being happy.

This is a factor. Facility is not up to par with the historical gyms, or monster arenas of the powerhouses. The planned upgrades will change that I feel.

One early post on this thread mentioned the criteria I need to see before feeling that UF has passed into a *program* powerhouse: at least one coaching transition without missing much of a beat.

Has Billy built something that will endure? Hopefully we'll answer yes...in ten or fifteen years. [wink]

No, and it's not even close. Louisville's history is way better than Syracuse's as well.

Haha. I'm with you. After we won our two NCs in bball, I dwelled upon how bad we were under Don Devoe. Then I felt better because I quit being happy, too. The wise man, Pat Dooley, once said, "No one suffers winning like Florida fans."
