Actually the 2001 game was a 4:30 pm start on CBS.
I believe the Dallas Baker PF game that we lost was at night. I think that was Meyer's first year...
That was in Knoxville.
Thx, I missed this post. Damn, 8 years!
And Zook was the coach, not meyer
...you too?!! I thought it was all that booze that kept me up that late.
2001-- the 9/11 re-schedule that cost us a shot at the national title as it gave Dockett and the Noles a chance to cheaply injure Earnest the week before the game.
You're right. I sold my tickets.

So 3:30... or 9:30pm here in South Africa. Now if I can just figure a way to SEE it. Tried everything for Miami, but all failed.
8 straight.......My the Vol's have fallen lately.
tennessee's D hasn't looked that good---hopefully UF's O gets it together and lights them up for big points in Gainesville
The 3:30PM game is just fine! Another noon game was going to kill half of our fans from heat exhaustion! Night games are much cooler temp-wise but a little too late for me. Us old guys need to hit the sack earlier than all you youngsters!
I was at that game and I'm with you. I hate those night games! 4:00 A.M. is about the same in Lakeland. And when you go the night games you wait and you wait and you wait for hours and hours for the Kickoff! I doubt coaches like that either. 3:30 P.M. is the perfect game time! Not to early and not too late. Besides, for those that are infatuated with night kickoff, the stadium lights will be already be on when the UT game begins. And yes it will be getting dark when the game is over.
Between 1981-2004 Tenn had 1 losing season. Just since 2005 they've had 5 losing seasons including 3 straight. Tenn has not beaten a ranked team since Georgia in 2007 after beating at least 1ranked team every year from 1989-2001. So yeah, they have slipped just a bit.
Why is everyone against the Night games? I get, getting in late but at night games at least from the TV View the atmosphere seems to be at a higher intensity.
I don't care what the blue-hairs say, night games are the best.
Hey, can you ship me some Stellenbosch wine? I can't find a retailer for some of my fav varieties from that region.
I see you are taking wine requests, I'll take a case of Chocolate Block. Very nice little South African red.
...and its not even close.
Ask someone what the loudest game they ever attended was. My guess is their answer will be a night game...or at least a late afternoon game that ended at night.
BTW any early word on the start time for Kentucky? I MAY be going to Lexington.
