The more I think about it, the more I start leaning to Seattle. This could be an epic game. I'm more excited than usual for this Super Bowl.

On a some what related note, I'm also excited to watch Bruno Mars and RHCP.

    >> UPDATE

    Tebow To Join "GMA" Friday.

ESPN Analyst Tim Tebow will slide over to sister network ABC as a Super Bowl special guest during Friday's broadcast of Good Morning America, ABC spokeswoman Alison Bridgman confirmed to USA Today Sports. Tebow will join NFL All-Stars to challenge chef Emeril Lagasse to a Super Bowl snack cool-off. Tebow was the QB Peyton Manning replaced for the Denver Broncos after the 2011 season. He spent the 2012 season with the New York Jets and recently signed with ESPN to serve as an analyst for its upcoming SEC Network. ESPN and ABC are owned by Disney. Tebow, a Heisman Trophy winner, made his official ESPN debut Jan. 6 before the BCS National Championship Game. He performed well in his first on-camera appearance as a network employee but wasn't tasked with much analysis. Friday should be more of the same. <<

I don't know. I think these guys are brutal. Maybe give up the work thing but not the family happenings.

The first, last, and only time the NFL championship game went to overtime was the last time the game was played in New York--the legendary 1958 game between the Colts and the Giants at Yankee Stadium. I'm feeling OT again, and finally in a Super Bowl.

Believe it or not, I remember that game! The Colts won on a comeback late in the game. I did not see the game on TV. It may have been on TV but not sure. I listened to it on the radio. I think the Colts QB was Johnny Unitas. He was something else. Of course, most everyone now thinks the greatest players are what he have playing in these times. Yeah, right.

    >> Ditka Thinks An Outdoor Super Bowl Is "Stupid".

Mike Ditka played six of his twelve seasons in the NFL for the Bears.

Mike Ditka played his share of games in the cold weather as a Pro Football Hall of Fame TE for the Chicago Bears in the 1960s. But he said playing the Super Bowl outdoors in the weather expected Sunday is dumb. "They made a big mistake. I mean, it's stupid." Early forecasts call for temperatures in the 30s. "It's not fair to the players," Ditka said. "It's not going to be fair to the fans. I understand it's a privilege to play in the Super Bowl, but it would be nice to be playing in Miami or San Diego or New Orleans or somewhere the weather is conducive to guys be able to show their talents." <<

    ******

I certainly agree with Mike Ditka on this. It is stupid playing the Super Bowl "up North" in the middle of the Winter outdoors! Certainly the players and the fans deserve a lot better. Even in a dome stadium is ridiculous because the weather certainly is going to limit the fun and events fans can have. I've always thought a rotation of Miami, New Orleans, Phoenix and Southern California should be the sites for the Super Bowl.

Also a few days ago I saw an article somewhere that mentioned that SB tickets are not selling very fast at all. Not like usual. Reference was made that on some ticket sites that seats in the upper sections of MetLife Stadiun started out about $1,200. But now they are listed for $700.00. No surprise to me. Who wants to sit outside in the upper sections of a stadium in the North in the Winter? I would not be surprised if TV cameras on Sunday will show empty seats at the game.

This game has me mystified. I certainly have an emotional investment in my team. Nate Silver (who correctly called all 50 states in the last election), says statistically it is a tie. His pic is Seattle. Everyone talks about Broncos offense vs Seahawks defense, but I wonder if the real deciding factor might be the Broncos D vs the Seattle O. The Seattle running game usually starts slow, and it's not until the second half that Lynch starts breaking off longer runs. That sets up the play action. If the Broncos don't have a large lead at the half, I think the game will go to Seattle. But I have too much emotional investment to make any rational choice.

The good news is Seattle is the second youngest team to play in the SB, so the house that Carroll/Schneider built might be around for a while.

I'd love to have Harvin win the MVP, but my guess is Beast Mode.

Seahawks in a blowout, but the score will be close. ;-)

Ray, when I saw those food stats, I wondered to myself, "who buys cake for a SB party?" Today in the grocery store (to buy wings of course), everyone was walking around with cakes. Go figure.

My feast is three kinds of wings, two wing sauces. Veggie plate with three homemade dips. Little Smokey's in homemade honey BBQ sauce, and pigs in a bacon blanket. Add a nice microbrew hefeweizen, and champagne with a win, bourbon with a loss.

Here in Lakeland, Publix doesn't miss anything! In addition to all the other stuff for Super Bowl parties, they have both cakes and cup cakes. Half were in an Orange color for Bronco fans. Another half were in dark blue for Seahawks fans.

I'll be at my younger brother's house tomorrow for a Super Bowl party. He has one of those big TVs. I was at Publix today seeing what all they had on display for SB parties. Tomorrow in the afternoon I'll stop by again and buy my "assigned" share of goodies. Plus 4 bottles of Spanish Wine; my sister-in-law makes the best Sangria of anybody! :)

I love Sangria. May all of you have a great Super Bowl weekend. This is the pumped I've been for a SB in a long time. Not just because I'm a hawks fan. Best offense vs best defense. Should be a heck of a game.

We broke down and made the Pigs in a bacon blanket tonight. With three teenagers they were gone in seconds.
