For KO returns I would try Showers instead of Patton
Actually it does. The team that gives up 40 is probably looking at a 4 loss season. Ill take the D. We'll need more of it to get to Atlanta.
Take a look at tOSU, their D got pushed around. Buffalo held the ball for half the game and ran the same amount of plays. Sure tOSU scored 40 but this is not a good sign for them going forward.

Mhm. As I said, it's that we know what those games looked like in years when we had a chance at a title.
Now, see that's where I don't agree with the "sling it long" argument.
You're makng the assumption that every long pass is a TD.
Would you be happy if Jeff throws 2/3 INTs a game? This is the bit that gets omitted.
In fact, early in the 4th quarter, Rice has 460 yards on A&M. They are actually outgaining the Aggies. But offense sells tickets.
Case in point: ESPN just mentioned the Miami-UF game. Mentioned Miami's great O and weak D. Then mentioned our weak O and re-mentioned it. Not a word about our defense. Sigh.
Pretty much was this score without a few mistakes. This is game one, I'll take 24-6 that could easily be 40-6. Would you rather have Buffalo score 20 or Rice score 28 (I think)?
they have to do something because I dont think Patton is going to cut it. I would try Purifoy next week
I understand that...mayeb the first couple times...but its up to our line to see that and know better...regardless of that left arm moving you still cant move until the ball does
Without the dunbar hold at the 5 we win 31-6. I'd much rather win this way over a good opponent. They did not score a TD Folks and we were even on TO's. Mighty Buffalo put up 20 on posu and might rice has almost 300 yards rushing on aggy. I personally think we played vanilla and conservative and still dominated.
Ironically I think we'd have scored a TD on the last play if they'd not messed up the clock. 31-6 would have looked much more convincing.
Miami won 34-6, right?
...which begs the question of if the refs kept missing that all game long - what else are they going to miss? :geek:
Actually there's a mid-ground between the two extremes of every long pass being a TD and having 2/3 INTs a game. Some teams complete say 2-3-4 long passes a game and have no INTs. It really is possible, even fairly common.
The main issue I have is that you look around the nation, there is no reason our offense should be as bad as it is ESPECIALLY with as good of a defense and special teams we have giving them great field position every game.
It's all constant excuses about personnel and hard to install an offense in one year, when you have teams with much worse talent than us at least attempting passes beyond 25 yds.
College offenses aren't really as complicated as we seemed to have made it.
Limey can't process this information. Lol I kid Limey. We're cool.
We were picked to lose by some so apparently we are better than people think which is a good thing. Toledo is much better than FAU.
I don't care if it's done by screens, there's no reason for Florida not to put up a score like that.
Also, if 2/3 interceptions a game is required to do that, then we don't belong with the teams who've a chance at the SEC.
Maybe, but a team ranked near the bottom in offense is likely looking at the same thing.
Obviously it would be good to be tops at both, but I'm not so sure it's better to be near bottom in o vs d, stinky both ways.
If they wanna get fans in the seats, open this baby up, take some chances, score some points and make this team exciting to watch. Muschamps close to the vest play calling (or throttling of Coach Pease) is horrifically BORING. Zzzzzzz........We are in a state with supreme athletes and speed, l dont believe that fans here care to see this grind it out boring style of play, at least not me or other Gator fans that l speak with. We loved the SOS riverboat gambler style of play calling because we had athletes and the speed to pull it off. It produced plenty of scoring and we loved blowing away opponents, especially if it happened to be a rival.
Until CWM realizes that we are NOT in the state of Alabama then l believe there will be many Gators that will continue to sit at home rather than go sit in the hot son at BHG where they have to temper their enthusiasm for a team that is just not very exciting.
As a former Dline, its extremely hard to not move when the Center does what he was doing. It's illegal to do that, especially when he flinches, moves his left hand AND yells something as he does it.
Not sure why the refs missed it all game.
Least next week we should almost be back at full strenght
