As bad as things are for our Gators at this time, think how bad it would feel to go undefeated for two full seasons and to have not won anything! No BCS Championship, no conference championship, not even a cheap sleazy Pulan Weedeater bowl! I know we aren't even going bowling for the first time since I attended UF, but karma has a way of making things seem better!

Urban keeps reading that paper he is holding--almost slowing his replies down. Must be his health insurance policy.

I just wish the Gators were in a position to even risk a 24-game win streak.

I am so glad this happened.

Justice has most definitely been served because there's no way OSU was "the number two team in the nation", no matter what the polls said. I can name at least at least 7 SEC teams off the top of my head that would have beaten them yesterday, without even looking at other conferences, so it proves what a flawed system we worked in up until now.

But it was a system that Urban had figured out too. Shame for him that his grand plan came crashing down, just as he was about to sneak in the back door!

Let's face it, like even the most casual of armchair college football fans, Urban knew what he was doing when he took that job: a great college brand to recruit with (allied to his own name from past success), and little to no pulse from the rest of the teams in an AQ BCS conference. Going undefeated was not a slam dunk, but if there was any conference it could be done in, it was that one. Urbs knew this, undeniably - spare me the "he's coming home" sentiments. That's why he took the job. He knew that the quickest way to get to a NCG was to stroll along a Cup Cake-laden Schedule with the eventual idea of being able to game-plan shrewdly for 'the big one' when he got there (knowing there would be a built-in excuse if he was whipped by a Bama or LSU-type).

Alas, his team was exposed earlier than he had anticipated, and even better still now... that door just SHUT with the switch to a playoff next year. Even when Miller comes back in 2014, they're not built to run the 'gauntlet' of Michigan, then the Conference Championship game before a Semi-final and National Championship game. Too many chances to be found out, sadly.

Don't get me wrong - I appreciate what Urban did for our college, but it's been obvious to me that what he did was sneaky and calculated. The Press (I'm looking at you, ESPN) kept spinning OSU's 'greatness' and it wound me up. Even that video "(serious voice) 23 games... is still 23 games!" propaganda they had running on their CFB pages this past week was as obvious as you can get for campaigning on a team's behalf. But I'm not blaming either party - both had a vested interest in seeing OSU succeed... but that's the reason I'm so happy justice has been done. Ironically, Urbs tried to sneak through the system, and he so nearly did it... but has actually ended up helping to close the loophole (scheduling!) that he so cleverly tried to manipulate in his favour!

This was from some guy named George Schroeder's twitter account...said
"Surrounded by family, Urban Meyer eats postgame pizza very quietly in corridor beneath Lucas Oil Stadium."

Trivia, Lucas, that stuff you dump in your car because I don't know why, pays 120 million/20 years for naming rights.
ESPN in process of securing playoff tv rights neighborhood of 500 million.
Bama took in about 25 million last year's bcs championship.
1 pizza papa john's $17.50...the agony of defeat.

I think the complexity of the UM conspiracy theories rivals the JFK ones!

    To add to the conspiracy.....

I think Urb knew Tressel was going to get canned, so he faked the health issue, casually coached the Gators his last year, waited out the next year to reconnect with his family, and then took the job when it miraculously fell in his lap.

Where did I say anything about a conspiracy theory?

I said he was sneaky and calculated - about his job selection! Others might say he was smart but he clearly knew what he was doing at OSU...

I'm saying your ideas are a conspiracy theory. I say that with due respect because usually you post thoughtful ideas and I enjoy reading them. The first time he quit was before tat gate even broke. There was no way in the world he knew Tressel was going to be eventually fired. And they called 911 and he goes to the hospital all as part of a ruse to have an excuse to leave? I have more confidence in the Loch Ness monster. :)

Meyer's future as a coach will be told in this game. If he picks himself up and gets ready for this game like only he is capable, he'll beat the brakes off of Clemson and maybe convince his current team that he isn't a quitter. If he doesn't get the team ready, they'll get steamrolled. Dabo Swinney will beat you on emotion alone if you don't prepare for a game against him.
