Tebow play for the TD
The announcers just said that beforeFranklin arrived at Vandy, they went to 4 bowl games in 120 years of football...he has now take them to 3 straight. Wow.
LOVE the jump pass call there.
Simply amazing what Franklin has done at Vandy.
That was a beautiful play, the play action jump ball to end the game for Vandy but why would they put that play on tape for meaningless points?
Sent from my iPhone using GatorCountry because I'm sick of it asking me to download it every time I go to the site.
I agree with pieisyummy - make it an ejection IF warranted not until they decide not to. (I think I got your point that way, anyways).
He won 9 games last year which was the first time they'd won 9 since 1915 with Irby "Rabbit" Curry at quarterback who died over French skies in WW1. My great grandfather was on their team the last time they won the conference, maybe Franklin can come here before he messes up that claim to fame.
If you don't understand that this is Vandy and we are UF then you don't understand how college football works. Look at Vandy before Franklin. For example- the season before he was hired they put up 0 vs UGA, 7 vs USCe, 3 vs LSU, 10 vs UT, 13 vs WF. This was the typical Vandy season before Franklin. Vandy is a doormat with no talent. Also right now Vandy is starting a backup freshmen qb.
Franklin came in with a backup freshmen QB and put 34 on us last week, 35 vs Ole Miss, 25 vs USCe, 52 vs UAB, 31 vs UGA, 24 vs A&M, put up 55 vs WF last season.
I know you know the difference between coaching at Vandy vs UF.
Wanna know what Spurrier's best offense averaged at Duke? 31 ppg. Vandy this season is averaging 31 ppg in the SEC of all places.
What happened to Spurrier's offense when Spurrier left Duke and came to UF? His best offense averaged around 50 a game against even better competition.
I would agree with that, but not what I was saying. A player roughed the passer and at the same time they called him for targeting, the targeting was overturned and some posters said if the targeting is overturned then so should the penalty, but that does not make sense to me since the hit was still late it just was not particularly vicious. I hope that makes sense. A late hit is late whether or not there was targeting.
Wow….Franklin is 8-2 in November at Vandy. Vandy was 3-32 in November in the previous 10 seasons. Simply amazing coaching job.
J Matthews certainly helps the cause.
@piesyummy: I get you. Yes, makes sense that overturning the targeting doesn't necessarily mean that the penalty itself was a bad call. So then I would just add that it seems more equitable to review late or particularly vicious hits to see if an ejection is warranted and then make that call. They seem to call for the ejection reflexively and then maybe have a bias against reversing their own call. We (in my opinion) got a bad call against Missouri. Actually, I even think the original call was a bad one, but that's a judgement call made full speed. But, I doubt they would have ejected him if they had to make that an affirmative call.
