I have to admit I wish Lane Kiffin still had his seat on the bus. It was fun watching the Kiffin comedy at USC. Now it probably won't be as much fun. We'll just have to wait and see.

Game is in L. A., not Tucson. Will be interesting to see how SC responds now that Kiffen is gone. Do they still struggle and keep the same identity? Or are they loose and play up to their potential? I'm hoping for the former, but fear the latter will be what happens.

Well, I thought I'd check and see if AzCatFan had stopped by to give us his take on the game. So he did but of course first he had to tell everyone I had screwed up in the OP! Good thing though I found out and got it fixed before the Big Shots on GC found about it!

wild man orgeron will get the team fired up--maybe he can rip his shirt off pregame and threaten to fight any player who doesn't do what he wants

If you haven't had your fill of frustrating QB play lately, Arizona at USC is the game for you. Arizona's QB Denker is a nice kid, and is athletic, but has a weak arm and hesitates. He's much more of a threat to run, but at 180 lbs, it's not like Denker can pound the ball. Fortunately, last year's leading rusher Ka'Deem Carey (25) is back, and will carry the load. For those of us old enough to remember, Arizona's offense this year is a lot like the 1989 Gators, which was Emmitt left, Emmitt right, and Emmitt up the middle, with the occasional incomplete pass thrown in just to try and keep defenses honest. Despite no threat the throw, Emmitt still averaged over 130 ypg. This year, Carey is around 140.

As for SC, their starting 22 is very good minus Wittek at QB. SC may also be without the services of Marquise Lee, one of the best WR in the game who is listed as questionable for the game. Wittek has the tools to be a solid QB, but locks on to his receiver like a fighter pilot, and also tries to make throws even Peyton Manning wouldn't attempt. And unlike last year when Arizona's defense was atrocious, we've improved and are a solid average D this year!

If SC comes out fired up and completely unencumbered by the ghost of Kiffen, this game might be a boat-race. All the factors are there, including Kiffen being gone, SC getting revenge from last year's 39-36 Arizona victory, the game being in L.A., and an SC defense that could play 8-men in the box and force the Arizona passing game into making a big mistake. But if the game is close in the second half, SC's lack of depth could be a factor.

Yeah, I feel the same way. I will still be cheering against Southern Cal in hopes of their earning a losing season, but only because I'm not ready for the pain to let up on them for their nonsense during the last decade. Also because I like to think that it's a nice little peak into what Alabama's future looks like when their player-buying antics et al come home to roost.

These commentators have got to be some of the worst I've ever heard. It's a giant USC circle-!@#$, but even aside from that you can tell these guys are PAC-12 homers. The Arizona RB is the best in college football? Really?

And of course the obvious, Petros's voice is like nails on a chalkboard.
