Procedural action now as Republicans tried to end it.

"UPDATE: 11:10 p.m. -- Republicans used a point of order to cut off the filibuster, arguing that Davis had strayed off topic by mentioning ultrasounds. The gallery crowd erupted in protest. State Sen. Kirk Watson (D) then sought to appeal the ruling."

They're essentially trying to filibuster the end of the filibuster right now. This isn't a filibuster that they have to continue until Republicans give up, they only have to push a vote on the bill off past the midnight (central time) end of Texas's special legislative session.

Very sad the lengths some will go to in order to kill those that are smaller than they are.

While our state rep. was yapping almost 2000 children were killed in this country and she along with her fellow irresponsible brethren felt it was important to keep yapping in order for more to be killed.

I am not sure I can think of anything less admirable -- pushing all in, making a stand, defending the people's right to 86 their kids in the womb almost universally for nothing more than convenience! Ah, honor, ah, freedom!

I think it is highly honorable to defend a woman's right to control the means and time of her reproductive capabilities from state interference.

Since the means of control costs a human life, nothing moral or honorable. One of the most amoral choices a human can make on this mortal coil, to figuratively and, for that matter, literally flush their child because there is still more personal gratification to run down -- in bed, at work, at the bar, at whatever corner of semi-permanent adolescence one finds themselves in, in the vast, vast majority of cases. Abortion could be its own book on the banality of evil.

The fact you and others simply don't get that women have that right already speaks volumes. The ones who are being denied rights are those that are being slaughtered. But for you and others they don't count.

We disagree. I don't consider a fertilized human egg or a fetus that has not reached viability to be a child, and I think it best that we leave it to the woman for whom this issue is most compelling to decide it for herself.

That's right. "They" don't count since they are not citizens or even defined as humans. "Their" fate is where it should be - in the hands of their potential mother.

Yes. Because we all know you were never that size. Pretty certain the issue is far more compelling for the child as opposed to the woman. But the child does not count for you. They are too small.

So says the bully. Too small for you to care about. Pathetic.

It's not a child and at the point of development we are discussing does not possess the ability to consider what is compelling and what isn't, or anything for that matter. It's fate is rightly in the hands of it's potential mother.

don't mind the cons....they're still stuck in the female role being barefoot and pregnant to provide little children for priests to molest.

You don't know me, but I do know your ad hominem attack speaks volumes about the strength of your argument.

Not anywhere near as bad as your actual attacks on those that are smaller than you.

To be blunt, all that is to me is the difference between murder and some unspecified form of manslaughter, not recognizing life where it is. As it today, they are free to choose; free to be as irresponsible, wanton, cowardly, or self-indulgent as they like, which at the end of the day is going to cover the motive in 99% of cases or more.

Thank goodness we have old, white males around to decide what's best for women.
