Having these WRs probably helps with the deep balls.

As always, cautiously optimistic. We always hear good news at the beginning of every season.

I have no idea if this is the wind blowing, but I do know Jeff has all the talent in the world and that throwing a deep pass is not that tough

We'll know a lot more about both Driskel's improvement and our receivers' talent level after Game #4. It certainly seems that Roper's insistence on getting rid of the ball quickly, a real TE who can run and catch and a deep receiving corps should fit Driskel's athletic ability to the max. Too bad he had to waste 2 years in a pro-set that even the pros are getting away from. I'm looking forward to an offense that can attack opponents from a lot of positions and a lot of athletes getting opportunities to make plays in space.

I know we hear good news every season, but the vibe this year is just TOTALLY different from any other pre-season in the Muschamp era.

We had some injuries last year at this time that came with some trepidation.

I heard JD dropped in a deep ball to Worton over VH3's shoulder, ran down the field, high fived CJ, and turned to VH3 and did the DX "suck it" gesture!! True story! ;)

10 days! I'm more excited for this season than any other one I can remember. I can't wait to start our revenge tour. We finally have the tools in the shed to do it.

I noticed more loft on a deep throw in the scrimmage video...

It seems Roper is a great teacher from everything I've gathered, so I have no doubts he has improved in this regard.

I hope the biggest improvement we will see this year with the whole offense is between the ears...

Gee whiz, I just hope Idaho doesn't hit us with the dreaded "quarters" defense which, as I've learned over the past couple of years on here, makes it absolutely impossible to throw said deep ball. And even to attempt it against that would be suicidal almost. Allegedly Toledo and Bowling Green smothered our aerial attack with it in the past few openers. Apparently we've been the only ones in college football facing this no-fly-zone defense for years, too. Makes complete sense, you know, seeing as how we've been annihilating teams via the pass to the tune of about 166 yards per game the last three years. To put that in perspective that's over 500 FEET of passing - nearly one-tenth of a mile!. A whopping 1.5 times the length of your standard college football field. WOW!

I did not see much 3-safety looks in any of those games, and frankly it would be absolutely stupid to do so against UF, since our o-line never gave enough time to even attempt anything beyond 15 yards in the air.

We've seen more tampa 2 and cover 1s in the last few years because we know that all it takes is a little pressure and our throws are generally short to short/mid range.

I wouldn't worry much about this. The difference this year is that if teams try to sit back and deep zone us then our RBs will make them pay with big play after big play. Defenses will have to play us with more conventional concepts or risk getting gashed.
