Kyle was not playing well and was replaced isnt that what the fans want? Especially if the other player is practicing well

I've seen a lot more of Caleb over the years to see that he's pretty unflappable. I can't really know for sure about anyone else.

As for our current PK situation, it's abysmal. For a team that relies so much on making field goals, its pretty unbelievable that they've turned that position into a mess.

Thanks poppa, never realized they were so close in stats. Thanks for the feedback.

Seems odd muschamp is so critical of Kyle

    How can you not?

Indecision and making the situation worse by flip flopping kickers.

They have this thing called "competition" in practice the best player get to kick. Just like the other positions when somebody is playing bad.

I'm sorry Az, I don't think the kid who replaced him is better. No offense to him... but he doesn't at this point have the leg Kyle does. He is not reversing the field like Kyle was last year.

So based on your support, I decided you know, maybe I'm wrong. Maybe the new guy is booming punts. So I checked it out...

I think you need to retract your statements.

In SC game... 2nd Qt. UF has ball on UF 27, Townsend kicks it 32 yards. Returned 6 yards, net punt 26 yards.

3rd qt. UF ball on the UF 29, Townsend kicks it 35 yards, fair catch.

And your here telling us all how good he is doing?

Edit: And I'm not bashing Townsend... just showing the the data does not support Az's claims.

I think you guys are getting caught up on a few words which is crazy. And people dont talk about things like punts inside the 20

Whatever. People want to act like I told him to shove it. All I'm saying is it is very difficult to be objective when talking about family and calling the head coach a hypocrite on a message board is probably not a good idea for the parent of a current player. In my opinion, he would be best served to calm down from the emotions stirred by a probably meaningless comment in the middle of a press conference before voicing his displeasure with said statement.

Kyle lost his job for a reason and the other guy has to play bad. If Townsend was dropping punts and shanking them I would say you have a point but he hasnt. He has been pretty average and steady.

I remember 1 punt being caught at like the 10. Another punt should have been stopped inside the 10 by the gunner I think it was Purifoy

    Fixed it for you.

Also, when I looked in that game, those were the only two punts I saw. Maybe I missed some.

Yes. I commend Muschamp for recognizing an issue and making a change. But you would hope that the guy thats coming in is going to do much better given the guy going out is a Ray Guy finalist.

I know WM likes to rely on what happens in practice, but that just doesn't seem to translate to the game for a lot of positions.

Its funny that apparently the best guys in practice turn out to be not so good in the games. And also when WM makes a switch at a position it doesnt work out for him and when he doesn't make a switch, THAT doesn't work out for him either (and it later gets evidenced by the starter getting hurt). Is he just the unluckiest guy or what?

Doesn't mean he had to oblige or take it in the direction that he did.

I'm not impressed with the change that was made. I don't think it has significantly helped and we've presumably lost (as Muschamp may never give Kyle a chance again) a punter who routinely backed opponents up last season.

    To what gain?

Just another head scratcher, in my opinion.

Actually, having gone through this last year, # punts inside the 20 is a stat that those that actually vote on the Ray Guy Award do take into consideration...
