What? They are automatically "loving" because they are gay? What a prejudiced comment.

They can't even create children normally. The whole situation is disgusting. And, yes, that is a prejudiced comment.

Again, guys, opinion over religion, sexuality, etc, notwithstanding....if the person is the biological parent they need to be on the certificate. Male or female. Biology doesn't equal parenting, as exhibited in so many cases, but at least that's my take on this.

No worries Fastix. Obama will get on this immediately. This topic is part of his overall gameplan for term 2. Global Warming, Gay Rights, Gun Control, Golf and Green Vacations. He will check on this right after he plays 18 today with Justin Bieber.

So seem to think that the presence of one problem, means ignoring another.
I agree with your point about broken homes and heterosexual dysfunction. I just think that both are terribly troublesome and neither is the best way for a child to experience his formative years.

The best way? Happy mommy + Happy Daddy that are happy and in love with each other.

A birth certificate is a public record (except for foreign-born presidential candidates, of course). I don't see how the judge has the authority to deny ANYBODY the right to see it.

Versus the pleasant experience of walking in on your mom and dad?

These are some fairly juvenile points.

What does the sexual orientation or marital status have to do with the biological relationship of the father to the son?

The birth certificate is only concerned with the biological relationship, none of the rest of it matters.

Yeah, I think children seeing parents having sex is traumatic pretty universally.

It takes a very special kind of logic to see someone sharing your opinion and then think that qualifies as validation that the opinion was right. In fact, there should be a name for such logic ...

And the slippery slope argument wasn't that at all. It's "if you allow gay marriage, then why not [fill in blank here]"

That's the whole metaphor - if you take one step on a slippery slope it will be impossible to stop the next or to go back.

Seems like if Texas recoginzed their union for purposes of a birth certificate, whatever "confusion" the children might have would be lessened. But that sort of logic doesnt fly for people who are right ALL the damn time.

My wife is friends with a child psychologist who sees kids from "same sex" couples from time to time. This woman has been practicing for 35 years. She typically sees one of the parents first and as soon as they say "my partner thinks", she doesn't even need them to finish the sentence.

Kids are far better off with one mommy and one daddy, both who live at home with the child and provide for his/her needs. Not two mommies. Not two daddies. ONE MOM AND ONE DAD....PERIOD.

maybe so currently because it is still quite frowned upon, but I imagine, there was a time when the best way, was a child being raised from a same race couple..........times change, and you either move with or against it

conservatives often choose to push back against progress

you will probably say, accepting this isn't "progress", maybe so, who knows in an absolute sense...but it IS progress from a standpoint of our Gov not preventing it, as it is unconstitutional to put up barriers against it.

you can have your beliefs, and your church, but our Gov is not supposed to follow by it.

You have a warped sense of history and conservatives. You will find nothing in conservatism that opposed interracial marriages. This is one of those things that if you say it enough time sit has to be true.
