Oregon's schedule is nothing to brag about either. I thought the Nulls were going to lose @Clemson, but now I can't see how any team stops them, unless they lose Winston.

It feels like 1992 around here.

The only card we had to play against FSU back then was the schedule card.

At the beginning of the season Phil Steele ranked each team's strength of schedule :

    1. Florida
    40. Alabama
    58. Oregon
    64. FSU

Since then .. Oregon's SOS has gone up .. and FSU's has gone down.

Unless Oregon loses .. FSU will be shut out of the BCS NC game.

except they have an excuse to do so; a really tough conference schedule plus FSU.

    FSU has no such excuse

    Q. What do they call the team that makes 7 or 8 bad plays in a game?

Anyone criticizing Florida's schedule is either disingenuous or is not looking at our ENTIRE schedule. Florida's football schedule is the TOUGHEST in the country this year .. and is among the ten toughest almost every year.

In comparison .. FSU's strength of schedule usually runs somewhere between #30 - #60.

This year it bites them in the ass.

    P.S.
THIS week .. Sagarin has FSU's SOS at #54 and Oregon's at #62. But for the rest of the season .. assuming both teams win out .. Oregon's will continue to rise and FSU's will continue to fall .. resulting in FSU being shut out of the BCS NC game.

I don't understand why 1992 gets such a bad rap in here. The zeitgeist of that year was actually pretty good, as I recall. 1999 was the low point in the Spurrier years, and even then it was at the end of the season, not the whole year.

1992 was the beginning of a three year stretch when FSU had our number.

Unlike now, UF had some solid SEC championship caliber teams back then, but FSU was better.

So some UF fans, like the OP, resorted to ACC schedule smack.

It was lame then, and it's no less lame now.

The 92 team got better as the season went, except for the fsu game where Spurrier basically tanked it because he was thinking about Alabama, not seeing any comparison to this team.

But their schedule is weak...so we've got that going for us, which is nice.

Yes. We have never had an easy schedule - at least not since I've been a fan (late seventies).

The national media has made light of our patsies despite the fact the our schedule consistently ranks among the toughest. It is usually a good thing to have this kind of schedule. We can lose a game against an SEC opponent, and can redeem ourselves with a win over the highly ranked teams we have to play. As a fan, I wouldn't want it any other way. It must be horrible for SOW fans to have to watch games against teams like NC state or UV.

SOW can't slip up even once. Nobody give a crap if they beat everyone they play by 50 pts. They have consistently been show to be frauds at crunch time for the last few years. They have looked to be the real deal this year... we shall see.

You forgot kentucky, Tennessee, Vandy (most years) and any number of Mississippi teams, Arkansas or Auburn when they happen to suck...

Of course, there IS no excuse for FSU. We have to play them; they only have to play us, and right now, we are probably not in their top five toughest teams on their schedule...

f$u will be trying to really run up the score against fla to get more votes in the BCS polls. Hopefully fla can keep the game within 17.
