They've played and demolished - not just beaten but demolished - every team they've played including two top-ten teams (granted Miami wasn't really a top-ten team but that's where they were ranked). I'd criticize their schedule if they were just squeaking by some of those teams. But when you're winning virtually every game by 30+ points give or take a couple that's an excellent team no matter what the schedule.

No doubt about it, the planets have aligned for fsu to have an undefeated season. A schedule full of patsies, two top ten teams who shouldn't have even been in the top 15, and a UF team at the end of the season with most of it's key starters out for the year and the team imploding due to coaching incompetence.

That said, that's not really their fault, and truth be told, it takes a lot of luck and the ball bouncing your way to get where they are and that applies to any team.

F$U will look bad if they don't beat UF by 40+

The only way anyone can beat FSU IMHO is with a great defense, especially a great DL that can put constant pressure on Winston without blitzing all the time. Unfortunately I don't see a team like that on their schedule or in any likely post-season game.

Except for OOC where they play some very weak teams. They have control over the OOC schedule and they took a bunch of pansies.

Agreed but its like playing Russian roulette...one bullet in the chamber and you have a chance. 5 bullets in the chamber its a different story. The Noles have done what they should to be ranked, Ill give them that. However, I would bet if they had away games against Mizzou who played a great game, UM, Ga, LSU, SC and UF at the end of the schedule I bet one or two bullets would go off and the great JW wouldnt have stats like he does. They prep for 3 weeks between decent schools...the rest of the teams are garbage and dont warrant more than a day of prep. It would seem they have the perfect way to a NC every year...one or two good teams, good state to recruit and a good reputation as contenders even though theyve been down for a decade. Our defense may not be solid by the UF/FSU game but they will give them a battle just like last year. Our Offense...arrrgh.

good analogy, but I still put the fault on them. They have control of the gun in regards to the OOC, yet they didn't load any bullets into it themselves. Instead they put nerf bullets in the gun.

They were supposed to play at West Virginia but that game got cancelled at the last minute. Besides the neutral site "kickoff" games, when do good schools schedule each other within a season or two anymore?

As for beating overrated teams, I'll agree Miami was Top 10 in rank name only. However, Clemson belongs in the conversation as the best team after Bama, Oregon, and FSU. FSU went into Death Valley(ACC) and put on an ass whooping Clemson fans born 50 years from now will feel.

    I do. Alabama.

Bama's DL would chew up fsu's OL IMO, and Bama's offense could score with them too.

Now I get it. Our staff is blowing these games to adversely affect FSU's strength of schedule - and doing a good job of it. We'll rank just ahead of Bethune Cookman if we lose to GA So.

Could be 7 bowl teams on that schedule. It currently has FSU number 1 in the computers. At this point, beating Clemson on the road that badly is still the best win between top teams. But WVU pulling out (and sucking anyway) and UF being down definitely impacted what at first looked like a pretty solid schedule.

I wonder if they have a thread on their board about our schedule (with results) being laughable.

You heard it here first ..

Amongst the Noles, there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth at the end of the regular season as Alabama and Oregon play for the national championship. FSU's candy-ass scheduling catches up with them this year.

    THEY'RE NUMBER THREE .. THEY'RE NUMBER THREE .. THEY'RE NUMBER THREE !!

Always love the bowl teams argument.... since there are only about 30 irrelevant bowls annually.

Miami may finish in the top ten, Clemson likely won't if/once they lose to USC. UF is still better than most of the rest of their schedule but the win wouldn't mean much as we're unranked.

Bama should be able to lose one and still be ranked over an undefeated FSU.

Since the nolies love to engage in revisionism: they will buy themselves rings that say 13-0 and spin it like they deserve the MNC more than whoever wins the 1vs 2 matchup
