As you all know, we have had more than our fair share of injuries this year. Some researchers contend that coaching has an impact on injuries. Here is an article on the topic about Australian football: http://www.ausport.gov.au/sportscoachmag/safety/coaches_and_sports_injury

Are we practicing too hard? Is our strength and conditioning program too strenuous (or not strenuous enough). Are we just unlucky?

IMO it comes down to this. Over the last 20 years kids have gotten bigger, stronger and faster. I don't know if it's from the steroids in foods, genetically enhanced feed for food animals or what. But when I was 15, 16, 17 years old, back in the stone age of the early 80's, you rarely had kids that were 6'4 or 6'5 and 3 bills. That being said, while kids are on average bigger now, ligaments and joints have not kept up with the rest of the body. They cannot handle the excessive size, strength, etc. and tear easier.

    Probably this.

The nfl has seen drastically less stress on practice this year and a huge upswing in acl injuries, exactly the opposite of us.

I actually think our S&C program is pretty good. Lets look at our team before the injuries started to mount. Our team kept getting better as the game went on. Last year was the same story, we were a second half team.

You can't do much about the type of injuries we have had. Purely unlucky.

it does seem that every year we seem to have more than our fair share of injuries. especially the O line. its been the same for years now. "we would dominate if it werent for all the injuries to the line". ive been curious about this myself.

I would be willing to bet the players are not doing proper warm ups and stretching.

Practice is a physical and mental mind set.
The wear in practice taking toll in games.
Easley caught up in drill that took him out. How many more nicks r tweeks have began in practice and ended in a game?

    lol well well well...

Remember when I was blasted for saying the same thing a couple months ago? Coaching does have an affect on them, no doubt about it. Practices, depth chart, teaching proper technique, etc

General conditioning and FLEXIBILITY are the best protection against injury.

The level of contact in practice is secondary. Hard to balance. You have to practice
good blocking and tackling technique so your ready for game speed, but avoid injuring
    your own guys.

This stuff is cyclical and we've had the bad luck on injuries this season.

This certainly makes sense, but wouldn't that equate to more injuries across all of college football. It seems like this team has more injuries than others. We are almost in double digits here.

Ga's acl's say hello. Knee injuries are happening everywhere. With the hipa laws alot are not disclosef. The concussion brew haha has taken away from the discussion as well. But UF has had a high % this season. I know we go 1's on 1's in practice and go hard, but outside of not hitting in practice I don't know what they can do to stem the tide.

So the fact that you were blasted for 6 pages somehow makes you right?

    OK, Got it.
