Despite beating like 1 or 2 tournament teams and finishing outside of the top 25, ESPN is saying Kentucky is the most underseeded team and Dick Vitale took it to another level with a few minute rant about how ridiculous it is for Kentucky to be an 8 seed. The blue blood and 5* love continues. When will ESPN learn?

Yet most of the pundits predicted Wichita to make it to the Final Four.

Who have they beaten? As a team, why do they deserve being more than an 8 seed? Because recruiting services says they have all the good players? Seeding is about being a team, Uk is a terrible team as a whole.

Same reason they rate them preseason number 1 every year. They never learn

Jay Bias, err, Bilas said UK had the more talented players but UF had the better team. Why do they still then fawn over the team with more talented players? The "talented" players went 0-3.

UK doesn't deserve more than an 8 seed.

Well, unless you want to compare resume's (RPI, BPI, Kenpom, etc) with some of the teams that got better seeds... Has nothing to do with talent or recruiting.
Not only did they get an 8 seed, they got an 8 seed in by far the hardest bracket.

UK honestly is probably properly seeded based on body of work (maybe a little underseeded), but over the last week they are playing better than an 8-seed.

UK is 17 on KenPom. I'd agree with the sentiment that they are highly under-seeded at an 8 seed. Louisville is too. They are #2 on KenPom, and only a 4 seed. Now, seeding isn't always about how good a team is, but rather what they accomplished too so I'm not sure if it is not undeserved.

It doesn't matter they finished outside the top 25. Why? ESPN will always promote Kentucky because of their rich tradition they have in basketball and the fact they continue getting McDonald All-American players every year. They thrive on number of stars and past history like they do with Duke constantly.

Disagree. What ESPN is doing is trying to entertain average viewers who care more about the emotional concept of injustice than they do about the number 1 seeds. Most years' shows usually start off talking about teams who didn't even make the tournament with all the "who was snubbed" talk.

per Todd Fuhrman, Vegas insider, if UK played Wichita State, the game would open at -2.5 for the Shockers. Pretty rough 1-8 seed matchup, for sure -- suggesting a horrendous underseed.

Kentucky did not get screwed at all. They have 2 wins over tournament teams, both of which came at home in addition to a plethora of embarrassing losses to mediocre and bad teams. They have played some very difficult teams, like us, but they don't have the wins that could have bumped them up. Still though, they have to be pumped that they would get a shot at Wichita St. who has not had to play any tough games in a long time.

They had one embarrassing loss. Not sure why I am defending them, probably a little SEC bias; however, if we had a possible 8 seed matchup against a team as good as UK, I'd be piiiiiissssssed.

If you absolutely couldn't find a single team rated higher than them on the S-curve that UK wasn't, by objective measures, better than, then I couldn't disagree with you.

You do'nt just look at a team with eyeballs and then look at who they beat and say what seed they deserved. These things are RELATIVE to other teams and what they did.

With their talent they under performed badly. They don't have an offense.

Wichita State won't make it to the sweet sixteen, UK then Louisville. I just don't see it happening. I think UK beats them in the first round.
