I know this had been mentioned as a possibility before, but appears to be official now.

ESPN has hired Tebow to be one of their analysts for the SEC Nation program (the SEC Network's planned version of Gameday that will originate from an SEC campus each week).

He'll also be used as a Sportscenter analyst and appear on a number of other ESPN properties. His first job as an ESPN college football analyst will be on the pregame coverage of this year's BCS title game.

Tebow and Finebaum are polar opposites!

Good for Tim... I just hope he continues to follow his dream and make it in the NFL too. ESPN would re-hire him some day, if he makes a roster next year...

ESPN's press release says that the role "will not preclude him from continuing to pursue playing opportunities in the NFL" and his statement mentions continuing to pursue his dream of playing quarterback in the NFL, so it sounds like his contract likely has something worked out to allow him to step away from the contract (or put it on hold) if he makes an NFL roster in the future.

At least he'll still be present. He should be playing, but this will keep him in the public eye.

Good to see he will be doing something to stay active in the football world. I too hope he can catch on with a team somewhere. Even if it was the CFL, that could help him to the NFL ala Flutie, Moon.

The first image that came to mind was Tim running over Finebaum every time he says something stupid.

I'd be inclined to say that Tim isn't well-spoken enough to be an "analyst", but compared to some of the clowns employed by ESPN I'm not so sure. I hope he does well in any case.
