Cook is the most important player IMO. If Muschamp is fired my guess is Driskel has a good shot at winning the QB job for next year and the year after.

I doubt it will come to that. You just might not like the decision Foley makes

Maybe... not so sure about that. Murphy looks more confident and he seems to think better. Nothing would surprise me at this point though.

He has made less mistakes throwing the ball but he also has taken less risk . He admitted he missed line calls vs LSU.

I think driskel would be better behind a very good line. If he had time to make his slow ass reads and doesn't have to feel pressure, he generally threw a great ball. The problem is Driskel makes A LOT of mistakes when rushed.

Murphy is better with our line because he progresses through reads faster and has better pocket awareness and slips out when the pocket collapses (something Driskel physically can do but does not).

I am not sure Murphy is going through reads fast tbh. Most of his plays are on scrambles or when the pocket breaks down. He does move better in and out of the pocket than Driskel which is a big thing because of this line. Murphy is quicker than Jeff and it helps him move better in the pocket.Something I am going to touch on about Grier in a later thread

I agree with you if the Oline is actually fixed next year Jeff has a great shot at getting the job. I am not sure he makes a lot mistakes, he didnt throw that many Int's last year and he was rushed all year.

I still think we can win with both guys if the Oline problems are fixed.

Didn't AC Leonard do something similar in in High School?

I find this pretty ironic, since a lot of people said the JD got the job over JB because of his scrambling ability behind a poor offensive line, with Murphy third. Now you are projecting JD to get the nod over Murphy if the Oline is fixed.

What about that do you find ironic?

Did we ever find out if it was a punch or just stripping the ball?

Maybe not ironic, but certainly seems inconsistent ---

Last year JB was 2nd string, at least in part, because he wasnt a scrambler and needed an O line to give him time to perform. JD was the scrambling playmaker who got the starts. This year you now seem to be saying that TM is the scrambling playmaker and JD needs the O line to perform. Either inconsistent/ironic or JD has morphed into a different player.

Tyler is just a better scrambler than Jeff nothing inconsistent about that

I'd go with a smarter scrambler. I think Jeff is more athletic but he makes stupid mistake while scrambling. Murph knows to keep his head up and look for options. He knows when and where to throw the ball and he knows if he needs to throw it away (for the most part). So the end result is that Murph is technically a better scrambler.

While Jeff is faster than Murphy, Murphy has better lateral quickness which helps him scramble better IMO. I think people put way too much on Jeff making stupid mistakes he did in a few games but for the most part he has made good decisions.

I think if murphy had reed like jd did last year he would look a lot better. Not sure who is better or more upside but throw a reed in this year with murphy and I would bet our offense and murphy looks a lot better.

Have to agree here. Jd has much higher ceiling, but he needs to get better at the mental aspect
