I'd hope you wouldn't shed a tear UgaGator. You are a man I think. Is that Japanimation in your avatar?
yeah, it is. great observation!
As of last weekend, Eli had not applied for his waiver yet. From a darn good source - might say an insider!
This thread should be locked. We have had 3 days of peace.
I just moved over - was asked to join GC by a good friend of mine who knows a thing or two about Fla basketball. I saw your thread and comment you made. I'm just posting a reply that was a tad more accurate and from an impeccable source that knows the status of of Eli's request for a waiver to play this season. As I said - as of late last week, he had not sent in the request.
IMO - his family most likely was waiting for the NCAA to rule on one of his former teammates request to play this season- which they granted. So now for Eli & family - it's only a formality to move forward and send in his request so he can play.
I just gave my new Gator "homies" some "inside food" my man. So it's a good thing this thread didn't get locked! Which by the way - didn't really touch much on the OP's topic!!
And - let there always be peace!!
Nice to have you around. People will question your credentials but don't let them drive you away.
Franz or Bullis didn't say anything to me about credentials demosthenes!! Mine are terrible!! I'll be glad to post what I can, but some things I just won't be able to post!
I enjoy reading most of the posts about basketball - to which I am partial. Love Gator football & follow all the Gator teams closely - men & women, but Gator basketball has my utmost attention these days!!
I have very high expectations for the Gator ballers the next 3 yrs. with what we have on the roster now & what we have lined up to come in the next 1-2 yrs.
This season-with the additions of Kasey, Chris (when he arrives), Eli (when he appeals to the NCAA), Tre & DFS - the team should be loaded with plenty of size, athleticism, talent & depth as we've ever had. The basketball Gods may have returned to Gainesville & plan to stay awhile. With the O-Dome $$50 "big boys" renovation getting closer to reality - Gator Basketball appears poised for prime time success again!
Happy to hear any and everything you can bring to these boards, hoopstar. Thanks.
I was using the urinal next to a former player one time but I have no information to share, I kept my eyes straight ahead.
LOL! So what did you hear?
Hoopstar is seriously well connected. I mean really seriously connected.
Keep posting O. The board needs good posters like yourself.
Nothing new really:
Florida’s Carter, Pitt’s Randall ‘Expected’ to Receive NCAA Waivers to Play Immediately
August 21st, 2013 4:02 pm
Eli Carter and Derrick Randall are “expected” to receive waivers to play immediately at Florida and Pittsburgh, respectively, following their transfers from Rutgers, an NCAA source told SNY.tv Wednesday.
“They are expected to go through once we have the official paperwork from the respective schools,” the source told SNY.tv.
The source confirmed that Rutgers transfer Vincent Garrett had received a waiver to play immediately at Wisconsin-Green Bay.
All told, four former Mike Rice players are expected to suit up for their new schools in the 2013-14 season, as SNY.tv first reported that Mike Poole had received a waiver to play this year at Iona. To read more of this story, click here
Is Carter going to submit that paperwork?
Another one of his teammates just got his release approved. Per Jeff Goodman, Carter's has been submitted and will be approved soon.
Now, if we can get Scottie back in the fold and Chris Walker eligible for January games, we'll be set. It's a shame we won't have Walker to help with the ooc schedule.
I really hope we have Walker from the start...but I just realized if he does start in December he would be a lot fresher down the stretch and in March...could it be an advantage?
Actually what Goodman tweeted was this:
That is not quite the same a reporting he knows or has a source he believes in that Carter sent in his paperwork.
Unless he's got some injury hampering him, that's not going to be an issue. He's use to playing close to as much as he will next year even as a fall admission. I just don't think players get that warn down by the end of the year - especially with the kind of depth you guys will have in the front court.
Having him in the spring is much better than not having him, but there's no way that having him all year wouldn't be the best case. The ONLY advantage I can see for waiting till spring is that it might push him towards staying for a second year.
