Terrorist attacks further the agenda of the government and allows them to spy on us even more. Just like the "war on terror" was a complete hoax. We give weapons to terrorists all the time. Apparently, al-Qaeda is an ally in Syria now if you listen to the scum in our government.

Telling America is one thing, giving the info to other nations is treason.

Hope he loves living in other nations, he has burned his bridges here.

If they let NSA contractors have laptops which they then take home or they can remote into work, then they deserve to have their secrets spilled. That's is a total breach of security. So is allowing them to have USB sticks or drives. Jesus, who the hell is running that agency? Idiots?

Listening to CNN he may be headed to Ecuador.

Supposedly, he's meeting up with the Ecuadorian ambassador to Russia.

Snowden is privy to the methods but very little useful intel.

And there exists only one method of revealing this information, and it's the one Snowden used. There's absolutely no other way to broach the subject with the populace.

Surely you could come up with a better way than running to China and telling the press, can't you?

I would have likely contacts a high-profile attorney first. Gotten him on retainer and ask that s/he arrange a meeting with one or more of the lawmakers sitting in the intelligence committee. Explain to them the information that I have gained and ask tha it be further investigated.

That's just off the top of my head.

Two wrongs make it right then?

What the government did (is doing) is wrong. How Snowden handled it is wrong too.

    Bullshit.

There were many ways this could/should have been handled. He chose but one route, and a very bad route at that.

Only the less intelligent (he didn't graduate from highschool) would insist that this was the only way.

He's running for his life, really. I think he "outed" himself because the govt already knew who he was and would be going after him. Being public might win him some sympathy.

I have mixed feelings. What he did was wrong but at the same time what the govt was/is doing is wrong as well. It is further disturbing that someone with his limited background and experience had access to such information. It shows a lot of carelessness on the part of the govt.

At the end of the day, the govt actions are FAR more disturbing to me and consistent with a troubling pattern by govt agencies that disregards American rights and privacy.

At least the public is now aware...

because the Boston bombers did not communicate with anyone outside the country and therefore we're not "targeted" by the NSA collection.

there's never been any mention of NSA letting contractors have laptops for them to take home. From whats been reported he brought in USB sticks and copied stuff and took that home. I'm pretty sure NSA wouldnt allow folks to do that but if a traitor wants to steal secrets they'll find a way.

Let's hear the way you could do this without being swept away quietly. I'm sure you've got tons of them.

Well let's hear 'em? I mean he was obviously fairly bright, so I don't understand the need to harp on his leaving high school.

It seems to me that he certainly threw in the U.S. govts face about what he did and that he was in China. The heat is on and he's looking for a country that's going to harbor him. I would call that a weasel
