There seems to be a heavier dose of early kickoffs. Seems like in the past there was the one Jefferson game usually between an Ole Miss - Vandy . Is this a price that the conference must pay to transition into the SEC network. My concerns that the 3/4 noon kickoffs might create some apathy for the folks live and watching. Wonder if there could be a little more space between games. There is a lot of congestion early in the day. Could there be maybe a couple 3:30 games or thereabouts?

The networks now control when we play! There is no good reason on God's green earth that the Gators should be playing at noon in Gainesville, Florida....ever! This week's game is in Missouri and the weather will be good for football. I was a student from 1969 to 1972 and we played home games almost exclusively at 1PM. That was torture....especially since we all dressed in jackets and ties for the games! The networks simply want to put as many "good games" as possible spread across every Saturday. That allows them to charge premium bucks for commercial time. They don't give a crap about the fans or how many have heat strokes on a steamy Saturday afternoon!!!

It's not only about tv. Bigger games tend to get slotted at 3:30 or later. Or so it seems.

i'll begin drinking eariler than normal to be prepared for the early kickoff. Mimosas and bloody marys at 8AM, first beer at 10AM, jack daniels when the game starts.

Are you saying we are playing an unusual amount of noon games? If so, it's because we aren't as good and aren't exciting to watch. So we aren't going to get premium TV spots. I think the two UF games were the lowest rated SEC games on CBS this year.

Back in the late 50s most of our games were at 1 PM. I don't recall being uncomfortable. Back then we wore ties and a dress shirt and our gals wore suits and dresses. Everyone was dashing and beautiful. Oh My!!

We would have lunch at the frat house and with our dates walk over to the stadium which was u shaped with the north end zone having bleachers.

The best time of my life. Go Gators!

When you suck, you don't get the prime time games.

What, you mean of the five games they've broadcast this year?

    CBS Week 1: Alabama - A&M (8.5 share - led the day)
CBS Week 2: Florida - Tennessee (2.8 share - losing only to Sparty-ND at 3.2 on the day)
CBS Week 3: LSU-Georgia (4.6 share - led the day)
CBS Week 4: Georgia - Tennessee (3.5 share - second on the day to OSU-NW at 4.4)
CBS Week 4: Air Force - Navy (1.0 share)
CBS Week 5: Rating not yet available.

Our game did as well on the day (or better) than any other SEC game. We actually performed better than the other SEC game with significant national competition.

Yep. Nobody wants to watch our games because we suck.

Have you watched us play? We're boring. It's not because we're not playing well.
