Just saw him announce for UCLA. We were a hat on the table, but definitely would have been happy to pick him up.

None of the hat switches or silliness. Instead of "taking his talents", he is "getting his education", and is planning to get a JD from UCLA law school.

His parents raised him right. Be great to see more young men like him.

It was refreshing to see and hear. Am watching the Vandy game and commercials filled with Jameis Winston clips. Winston comes across a certain way.

Yep. Too bad the coaches weren't taking LBs, or he would have been a Gator. Seems like a good guy.

He wanted to be a Gator, but for some reason we turned him down. We need a LB in this class, and a good one at that not some last second 2 star LB with offers from only the Citadel and BYU.

I was very impressed with him. It was refreshing to see a kid like him after watching one kid after another announce who don't even know that their school is not The University of ........ If I hear one more kid say they are taking their talents to The University of Ohio State or The University of Florida State, etc., I think I'm going to snap.

You think? I see him listed at 6'1, 212. If true he has some work to do.

I was surprised we turned him down, but we don't really need a lb in this class. He's undersized, but getting a bigger presence there (especially due to a few players next year) IMO would have made it worth it. I was questioning it before, but now I'm very disappointed after seeing how he carries himself.

He is a player. I'd take him in a heartbeat.

I wouldn't mind if we got him but understandably we took 4 or 5 LB last class and have a few big time recruits for '15 that are big gator leans that we are real high on like Jeffrey holland. I'm glad the staff has used the extra spots to add offensive lineman, just recently we added sharpe, sarvary, harkless and have made major ground for prince. He is very fond of our new ol coach, calling him "The king". We all know we needed lineman and we are getting them.

While he might need to add some meat, I don't view this as a major problem. Linebackers are getting leaner to keep up with the offenses in today's College Game and NFL. In 2014 it's about creating mismatches.

Agree. Plus he is an explosive player when you watch his film. He'll be a great player for UCLA.

I understand all that and definitely want to see us fill areas of need first. I think some guys are plus ones though, and from an intangibles perspective I get the impression this guy would be one of them. On top of being a top tier ball player, he's a guy that sets the right example, and helps make his teammates better individuals and more successful in life as well as on the field. I would want him on my team - that's for sure.

After losing so many backup LBs to injury this year, I think we're going to see a huge influx of talent from returning guys. I think the Anzalones and Rolins of the roster will pay major dividends. We can't take everyone - I'm glad to see the coaches be upfront about it, instead of telling him to wait 'til NSD so we can count signatures.

Good point. I'm definitely with that.
