Is the chance of injury greater when sitting in the pocket with no awareness, or rolling out running or passing? I say sitting in pocket oblivious to the big hit he is about to receive.

You know, this could be a good thing, in that instead of practicing as the #1 QB, he has to observe from the sidelines without thinking about when is it his turn to go back out. Sometimes a time out is better than pushing through and doing the same routine.

Hopefully this doesn't make us run him less- the read option is by far our most effective play right now.

You're right. When running he's usually able to see the tackle coming and can prepare. When he's blind-sided he can't. I've seen stats somewhere showing that more serious QB injuries occur from the pocket than when running.

Seriously, could using Tyler Murphy be any worse?

Saying "I have to protect the ball better. It starts with me" after every game is not going to fix Jeff's problem. It seems like he doesn't care if he is benched and has become a turnover machine. I hope he doesn't have Wyatt Sexton syndrome. Will be interesting to see how long this knee injury plays out. Methinks more than one week.

It was pretty obvious. Her got up limping. Not much read option after that.

We get Jeff to protect the ball better by keeping his jersey clean. Using highly limited practice time to teach your QB how to get sacked better is probably something Doug Dickey did.

To this point: Tebow was standing in the pocket in Lexington.

He's taken big hits in the pocket in both games--if this keeps up he may not last the season

He has become really injury prone and it has become worrisome.

We may have emphasized muscle and power over speed and flexibility a bit much.

Ridiculous post...Tyler Murphy at QB would be a disaster...QB at UF has standards and JD played poorly in red zone this week...time to move on, me too...the fact that he's the 2 on depth chart is offensive as it stands...if and it's a big if florida finished 10-2 and won 3 of the remaining big 4, LSU fsu USC, and ugga...would that be good enough? We ain't beating anyone on that list with Murphy...

No, I don't see lack of practice time being a good thing for Driskel.
