Missouri receiver Dorial Green-Beckham has been dismissed from the team, coach Gary Pinkel announced Friday.

“This decision was made with the best interests of all involved in mind,” Pinkel said in a statement. “Dorial’s priority going forward needs to be focusing on getting the help he needs. As we have all along, we will continue to do everything we can to assist Dorial and his family. We care deeply about Dorial and his well-being, but hopefully he can benefit from a fresh start.”

People don't realize how close he was to signing with Florida.

He was one of the best wide receivers that UF really went hard after.

He cannot enter the NFL Draft until the spring of 2015 but could transfer to a Football Championship Subdivision or a Division II school this fall to play his junior season.

Isn't his mother fighting cancer? Or am I thinking of someone else? Terrible news.

Kid reminds me of a stronger version of Randy Moss, although his stats weren't all that good. Too bad he can't get his act together. He's headed to the pro's, but he''s costing himself a ton of $$'s.

I don't know but you might be mixed up with UConn's basketball head coach, Kevin Ollie, whose mother is fighting cancer and they flew her in so she could watch the Final 4.

Thanks for sharing, didn't know that. I actually found a good article on DGB. Crazy what this kid has gone through, and continues to deal with.

    Dorial Green-Beckham was pronounced dead.

His mother, Charmelle Green, troubled and six months pregnant, had been taken to a hospital in this Ozarks city after ingesting a cocktail of drugs that included crack and Demerol.

Doctors miraculously revived her, then later told her the baby boy she was carrying was dead.

They were wrong. He somehow survived and was born a few months later.

It was the first time Dorial Green-Beckham had overcome adversity.

But it would hardly be the last.

Agree, and when he becomes a pro he'll make millions of dollars... Then... he'll be broke within the first 5 years after he retires. Because he's a dumba$$.

From what I understand he hasn't been charged? So, if he isn't going to be charged for the crime then I don't see how everyone can deem him a bad person. I would definitely take a chance, with a very short leash, to play on my team. Sometimes kids need reality check to realize what exactly they had. And not just kids, but people in general, it's called life changing events.

No idea how accurate (or biased?) this is but ESPN says:

According to the police report, he forced entry to someone elses apartment and then pushed a woman down the stairs.

Charged or not... talented or not... that's not the kind of guy we want on our team, full stop.

Auburn is standing on the sidelines, frantically waving at your comment, yelling "burglary? who cares, we'll take him!"
