" I submitted my All-SEC ballot on Tuesday. It was weird because we had to vote for eight offensive linemen and six linebackers and four running backs and rank them. Anyway, the Gators I had on there were Jeff Driskel, Vernon Hargreaves III, Dante Fowler Jr., Max Garcia and Andre Debose. I picked Auburn and South Carolina to win the divisions with Auburn repeating as SEC champs. We in the media have been correct four times since the media started voting in 1992."

    Other musings in the article....

    "Dr. Football". What a joke!

Read this morning that Tennessee was the last repeat SEC Champ, don't know if it is true, but I could not think of a repeat winner recently

Auburn should have a very good team, but repeating is tough.

And they had the lucky bounces last year - those things tend to even out.

I did a little research and found that it was Tennessee that last repeated in 97 and 98. Before that it was Florida from 93-96 winning four in a row.

That's interesting. I would have thought that Bama would have repeated as SEC champs somewhere in their recent run of success, but then again, they also won the MNC without winning the SEC West that one year.

While both of them could get there, they play each other and one will serve the other a big blow. I see it easier for SC to survive a loss than Auburn. I think two losses could win the East, but not the West.

    Just my opinion.

Our schedule is flat out nasty.

At Georgia, at bammer, and at both Mississippi schools in a year when they both return their QBs and most of their starters.

We also go to Kansas State for a Thurs night matchup.

That being said....I firmly believe we'll shatter every offensive record in school history this year. We are flat out loaded at every position and the guys we lost (Tre, Greg, etc) we have talented backups that can step up (OT Former 5 star Shon Coleman, RB Cam Artis Payne, etc.

We added the #1 JUCO player, Duke Williams, opposite Sammie Coates at WR. We also return the entirety of our WR corps behind them.

We even have depth at QB with Jeremy Johnson getting SEC Offensive player of the week in both the games he started last year.

We should average 40+ points a game so if our defense improves as much in year 2 under Ellis as we expect....I don't see many teams outscoring us. My biggest worry is replacing both kickers but we tend to reload there.

But yeah...our schedule is very very stout.

I don't think Auburn will be able to run the same play twice in a row effectively this year. DC's in the SEC usually catch up. They were extremely lucky last year.

Catching a tipped pass that should have been intercepted...yes..that's luck.

Putting your best returner in on a desperation FG attempt is not luck. That's coaching. And even if Chris doesn't take it to the house...the game goes to overtime, it's not a loss.

As far as a lot of folks saying our offense will be figured out....Gus has been a college OC or Coach for 8 years now. He ran the same offense at Auburn from 2009-2011. How much time do DCs need?

Gus's offense evolves with his talent. He had a 5000 yard passer at Tulsa and had the #1 and #2 rated offenses (with different QBs) in his 2 years there, then takes Cam and runs QB power heavy ground attack for a BCS title. He takes Nick Marshall and Tre Mason and moves to a more perimeter attack by the QB, with Tre going inside.

And what do you have to say for the second half of the NC game? FSU figured them out and there was horrid coaching.

We had a bad quarter in the 3rd. It happens. We also had our worst special teams performance of the year....gave up a fake punt conversion for a TD, missed a chip shot FG, gave up a kickoff return for a TD. There is 17 points right there.

We marched down the field twice in the 4th quarter...once for a FG and and once for a TD so I don't see how FSU figured us out there.

We had plenty of chances to close them out before halftime and didn't put them away. Credit to FSU.

One bad quarter in the SEC can mean no repeat in the SECCG. I don't take from what Auburn did last year; its was incredible and I wish I could see Saban have that look on his face more often. It is simply hard to repeat in this conference and coaches do figure teams out.

Sure it can. I'm not saying we are stone cold lock to repeat. We have a super tough schedule, but I think we'll be even better than we were last year. If that's enough to offset the tough road games remains to be seen.

Florida State didn't really figure them out. Auburn made some key mistakes, and Marshall made a lot of bad reads on those option plays.

Oh to have that Ricardo Louis pass one more time....WIIIIIIIIIIIIDE open for walk in TD on the first series.

Last season was awesome, greatest turnaround in CFB history, but man we left a ton of opportunities out there on the field in Pasadena.

Yeah, yall's is brutal as well.

Whichever person at the SEC office thought it would be a swell idea to have us play on the road at Georgia and at Alabama in the same year to end every other year should be hit over the head with a steel chair.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Richt and Saban are at the forefront of that operation.
