I'll be fine if and when Billy Donovan leaves. Similar to Spurrier, I'll root for him no matter where he goes.

I don't know if I would be fine. I'd probably freak out. But, I will root for him no matter what he does.

I wonder if Corey Brewer is talking up Donovan.

I will be disappointed when he leaves, but not mad at him. He is the best coach that UF has ever had.

I think Izzo is the main candidate. "Sources told ESPN.com's Jeff Goodman that Izzo is intrigued by the opening."

Hoiberg is the other main candidate.

Also emerging as an inevitable target in the search is Billy Donovan. NBA coaching sources told ESPN.com that the Wolves have Donovan prominent in their thoughts as they compile a list of potential successors.

I can't see him leaving for this job...

I accept that one day he'll probably take a nba job, but not one of the 5 worst.

Although I was watching the playoffs this weekend and realized one thing we have going in our favor is Billy would have to wear his suit jacket all game.

The Knicks maybe, but Minnesota? Don't see it.

I'd be very sad to see him go but I could never wish any ill fortune on Billy Donovan or his family. I'd become an advocate for Minnesota winning games instantly.

That said, I definitely don't see this happening.

Any team looking for a new coach would have Billy on its list. There are a lot of wonderful women I would like. Doesn't mean they have any interest in me!

Minnesota is a perennial loser and, with the uncertainty of where Kevin Love ends up, they could sink even further into the land of bottom feeders. If Billy is interested in the NBA, there are and will be better opportunities than the Wolves.

I think there's a sense that Minnesota has really under-achieved over the last few years relative to its talent level. They had a really good points scored/points allowed figure this year, and they've been sunk recently by absolutely atrocious crunch-time performances. So that team is probably closer to playoff contention than it looks, and there's a core there that one can see as attractive to a head coach.

Of course, the larger problem is that the most attractive part of that core is a free agent after next year and appears to have had his spirit thoroughly shattered by the Minnesota experience.

If my darling wife happened to die in a traffic accident tonight (please don't happen!) I think that Scarlett Johansson would be #1 on my list for a replacement. Odds of that happening are about the same as Billy D going to Minneapolis.

I understand the T-wolves have no winning tradition and that there is a question about Kevin Love's future there. But otherwise, I wonder how they are one of the "5 worst" jobs. Is there some metric for that?
