Unfortunately no. She's retired and never worked more than part-time. Now she raises our grandkids.
I thought she could make money as a hooker or a porn star, but she wouldn't go for it. So selfish. :)

    Yikes!

I make more than my current 'interest".

He is a teacher, that makes it OK, right? lol :)

Seriously, I have thought about this long and hard. If we ever do "take this to the next level" I know it will be weird to sort out the financial arrangements. Double standard? Yes. As my stay-at-home Mom has always said about my dearly departed Dad and her husband of almost 50 years, "What's yours is mine, what's mine is my own!"

No, but she's pretty close. I'm fortunate to have a second bread-winner in the house.

Wife & I have been a couple 25+ years, over that time we have flipped a couple of times being the top bread-winner, right now I am working for the state and she is doing consulting for local governments so income project dependent, at one time I did political consulting, campaign dependent for income, while she worked in local government so we pretty much work out income expense stuff without the drama of who earned what.

I make more but my wife gave up her career to raise our children. In a way I'd have to say she makes more.

For starters, your wife doesn't cheat on you because you make more money.

I know some women who cheat on husbands who earn more than them because they feel cheap not being the breadwinner and not having that control. so they find men who they can control. I don't think it matter who is a breadwinner whether it be man/woman,someone feels slighted and could cheat. It's all about feeling that control, that power. Basically, it's an indulgence and gluttonous because cheating is cheating no matter the reason. I just find that most people do it for control and it really doesn't matter the breadwinner, but I am sure it contributes to the fact as does so many other things in the relationships. People nowadays especially covert control and sex is a powerful tool in any relationships to achieve a form of that over themselves and another.

I think the wife making more is like her being taller. Not a deal-breaker but you need the right components. If the wife uses her additional revenue to emasculate her male then that doesn't bode well. But if it is "more is better" approach then hooray for us!

Right now dating a woman that makes almost double than I do. I already make a decent income. Never thought it would be possible to find someone that makes more than me. It is refreshing to know that the person I am dating is not interested in what I have or what my income is.

Well, that frees your time up to date both of them.
And with the double income, who needs a job?
A win/win situation if ever I heard it.

For most of our marriage no, but for the last couple of years, she's made a lot more. Good thing, because my income has been in the toilet. FWIW, I have done all the cooking, and most of the grocery shopping since our twins were born. When they were infants, I did most of the bathing because she was afraid of dropping them. I also did all the poopy diapers for the first few weeks because she couldn't do it without gagging. The only time she did laundry was when we lived in Tampa and our laundry room was in the garage. Everywhere else we lived, it's been in the basement and she's basement-aphobic. During the six ore seven years before my kids went off to college, I was the primary caregiver and point person on school related stuff, even when she was working, I was working in a freelance/contract capacity during those years, but the time consumed caring for my autistic son seriously limited the amount of work I could get. He's off at college now, but it's been a real struggle getting any traction going given how long I was on the sideline. There's still a lot of time consumed checking in on him and keeping him on track. If I made more money, we could hire an aid to handle that stuff, which would be great for my relationship with him.
