Does a win by your NFL team ever salvage your weekend after a Gator loss?

I am supposed to be very happy today. My Dolphins went on the road, and played a really nice game on both sides of the ball. They won by two touchdowns and the season is off to a great start.

So, I feel a lot better Monday morning than I did Sunday morning....
.....but in my gut.....Its all about Saturday.

Not me. Dolfan here as well and it was nice to see them win but my love for the Gators is unmatched when it comes to football. You can still be a good NFL team at 10-6. You really only have maybe one or 2 losses before your season is a disappointment on the college level. Go Gators!

Since my NFL team is the Bucs, no, it hasn't for most of their existence. A win here and there doesn't make much difference when the season's a loser regardless of the exact # of Ws and Ls. But in the few years when the Bucs have been serious NFC South and SB contenders it helped a lot.

I'm not a big NFL guy, so it wouldn't help I don't think.

But I'm a Raiders fan, so I don't have much chance of testing that theory. :joecool:

No. And Gators having season ending injuries in the NFL only makes it worse.

I'm a Jags fan so I have no idea what you're talking about.

Well you'll just be a week late with the Jags coming to town.

I'm a lifelong Cleveland Browns fan... :dead:

My new mantra for the Browns (instead of the Suck for Luck) is to... "wet the beddy for Teddy".

Sucks when in the first game of the season, you already know that you need your team to lose games for next year.

Same here. The late hit with 7 seconds to go to give them the field goal put the dagger in the weekend.

    The rare weekend trifecta:

    Gators
    Bucs
    Fantasy Football

All with a Big L -- in winnable games....

Gator losses don't hurt like they did from 1990 - 2008 --- maybe I'm just getting old and have some perspective.

Same. It's all about Saturday for me as well. It's also about the rivalries, they are much bigger at the collegiate level than the NFL. UM has bragging rights now FOREVER unless we play them in a bowl game.

Ouch. Been there way too many times. I hit on fantasy success, but the Bucs loss was just an extra kick in the shorts.

Sure does. Big win for Dallas, ended that Eli ownership and it was a divisional win. Gators loss stings but I never expected an undefeated season. Too many question marks on offense. We beat the Noles and I'm happy

Hell no. I don't care for the NFL. I bleed only orange and blue.
