Do you consider this Christian behavior?

Beyond the fact that God is supposed to be the one judging, beyond the fact that he gave great service, and beyond the fact that his sexuality has nothing to do with his job, how is calling someone a queer Christian?

I think it depends, at least somewhat. How did they know he was a homosexual? Did they interrogate him or did he volunteer the information, etc.? If he volunteered the information, then that's not what I would've done but I don't consider him a victim, either.

For myself, I've never asked a waiter/waittress about their sex life and if they volunteered that kind of information I'd talk to the manager.

Eh, no. But I also know I don't really think much of it, either. People do and say some pretty dumb things in the name of God sometimes - that being said, Christians are still sinners capable of being misled, foolish, etc. What else is there to say?

No. If they are in fact Christian their knowledge and understanding is very limited.

No. Jesus, himself said that the laborer deserves his wages. So what the people were saying is true about the nature of the homosexual lifestyle, but it does not follow that the laborer should be denied his wages. The sun shines for both the heterosexual and the homosexual. So even though homosexuality is rebellion against God, there are still blessings in life that God gives to those who rebel against Him. I think those who best represent Jesus are those who bless God's friends and God's enemies because God is no different.

If this is indeed true it sounds like a chickenchit way to get out of leaving a tip. Pretty bad when you have to blame it on God rather than your own cheap ways.

If they didn't tip because the person was a conservative, this wouldn't come close to making the news ... and that's a fact jack.

    Slow news day.

The story of Jesus writing the sins in the sand of those who accused the woman of adultery comes to mind.

This! They would have had more impact if they gave 2x or 3x a normal tip and left a message. But that was not the proper forum to discuss the issue. Every server in there sins, as do each of them. Being nice to people does not mean you agree with everything they do.

Yes, we noticed how clever that was, in a multiplicity of ways.

If it is how they believe that is their right. Even if I think it is wrong.

But to wait till after their dinner was served is cowardly. If they believed it to be true they should have said something to the waiter as soon as they felt the waiter was a homosexual.

I might and that is a mighty big might have a little more respect for their belief if they upped and left as soon as they felt the server was gay rather than sit there with a hypocritical grin on their faces and except the service, then admonish him in a note.

I bet they scurried out as quickly as they could.

This says more about the server than any belief the diners have:

Not leaving a tip unless the service is horrible is not acceptable. If one cannot afford to tip the server, than go to a restaurant without table service.

That said, Restaurant owners/managers need to be extremely careful about the "face" of their restaurant. A bunch of us (all men) walked into a restaurant for lunch one day about 7-8 years ago. It was a "sports bar" type wings joint that clearly catered to businessmen at lunch in the Tinseltown area of Jax. "Tinkerbelle" met us at the front door. Real flamer, super effeminate type who you could tell, tried to shock people with his behavior.

We took a seat, waited about 10 min for a waiter to show up, looked at each other and said we are out of here. I went and found the manager and told him the owners were going to lose their asses if he (the manager) did not replace his host/hostess/gender unknown at the front door and get his staff properly trained. Within 3 months they were out of business and owners lost $500 K- $1 M.

Agreed. I think they were very ignorant and very wrong to do what they did. When you patronize a restaurant, you know you do not get to choose your server and should compensate them solely on the quality of their work.

Most restaurants will accommodate a patron's choice of seating or servers. You don't have to say you don't want a certain server waiting on you, all you have to do is ask that a particular one be your server. If you have never been there it might be a bit of a problem but you can always do it on the fly. We often ask to be seated where a particularly good server is waiting or one that we know.

This probably was a fake story made up by someone to push their agenda and make Christians look bad. Actual Christians are taught not to judge and to treat everyone equally. So either they were not actual Christians or this never happened.
