It's funny that a lot of the people blaming Muschamp were blaming Driskel before his broken leg. Our problem is and has been our offensive line but compounded beyond belief by the injuries this season.

....and the fact that Muschamp signed 4 over a 2 year period.

Funny and yet I believe many of us feel the same way. There's a very vocal minority that state they don't care how we win but I disagree. Our program has been built around dynamic offense so much that it is intertwined with our identity.

No, because he will never get to the SECCG. UF will finish no better than 3rd in the East in 2014 and Muschamp will finally be gone. (he should be gone after this year).

No, his conservative approach takes the fun out of football. Even last year with a season that was great, it seemed that we won ugly. We did have some games where we scored a lot of points, but the defense scored half of them. Which is alright. Our problem with Will is somehow the other team has to kick us in the face before we start playing. We don't try to get in the endzone first. How about a halfback pass, a reverse pass, how about using tight ends, running a screen properly. When we put half the people on one side and the QB on the other side with the center, I have wonder what is in the heads of our OC and HC. Will this ever change with Will. I don't think so. We play down to the level of competition. So sadly just NO!

Football is a game, make it fun for the players and fans. If not it is a grind for everyone involved.

There's a difference between winning it and competing for it. we're no where near even competing well enough to reach the SEC title game...this horse needs to be put down and get a thoroughbred that can race!

Finally, a new UM theory. And one that is more credible than the made up ones. :)

One thing I find ironic is that after leading the Gators to two MNCs UM lost to Saban, had health affects from the stress, and four years later some people here are still mocking him and wishing evil on him. If WM makes the SECCG and loses to Saban, he will most likely punch a hole in the white board, drop some F-bombs, stare down some insignificant people, and some people here will chant BOOM! But in fact both cases will be losses.

To the OP's question, I do not think WM can win the SEC unless he conducts a complete overhaul of his offensive philosophy. His system is elementary and cannot win or compete consistently at a high level in college football today.

This is our chief issue. Not only is the offense bad, it is not consistent with FBS quality offenses. Injuries or not, it's complete incompetence directed by the head coach and oc in charge of building it up

i dont know how many years a coach should get, there are a lot of variables, but I would take a stab and say two and half years, when one season was a 11 win season, is pretty ridiculous especially considering no major meltdowns have occurred, he has recruited well, done things the right way, has the team playing hard and essentially out of trouble after taking over and making some pretty significant changes and having to deal with a relatively rare situation with UM.

Trivia question: How many SEC East titles did Zook and Muschamp win? See answer below.

Often times, it takes more than having a great season to get to Atlanta.

Tell me, what is the normal conference record for making the SECCG? Here' I'll show you:

    Year------School------------------Conference Record

    1992...........Florida...................................6-2
    1992...........Alabama................................8-0
    1993...........Florida...................................7-1
    1993...........Alabama................................5-2-1
    1994...........Florida...................................7-1
    1994...........Alabama................................8-0
    1995...........Florida...................................8-0
    1995...........Arkansas...............................6-2
    1996...........Florida...................................8-0
    1996...........Alabama................................6-2
    1997...........Tennessee............................7-1
    1997...........Auburn..................................6-2
    1998...........Tennessee............................8-0
    1998...........Miss State.............................6-2
    1999...........Florida...................................7-1
    1999...........Alabama................................7-1
    2000...........Florida...................................7-1
    2000...........Auburn..................................6-2
    2001...........Tennessee............................7-1
    2001...........LSU.......................................5-3
    2002...........Georgia.................................6-2
    2002...........Arkansas...............................5-3
    2003...........Georgia.................................6-2
    2003...........LSU.......................................7-1

    2004...........Auburn..................................8-0
    2005...........Georgia.................................6-2
    2005...........LSU.......................................7-1
    2006...........Florida..................................7-1
    2006...........Arkansas..............................7-1
    2007...........Tennessee............................6-2
    2007...........LSU.......................................6-2
    2008...........Florida...................................7-1
    2008...........Alabama................................8-0
    2009...........Florida...................................8-0
    2009...........Alabama................................8-0
    2010...........USCe.....................................5-3
    2010...........Auburn...................................8-0
    2011...........Georgia..................................7-1
    2011...........LSU........................................8-0
    2012...........Georgia..................................7-1
    2012...........Alabama.................................7-1

    Average.................................................6-2

Percentage of teams that finished with:

    0 losses: 11 of 42 (26%)
    1 Loss: 16 of 42 (38%)
    > 1 Loss: 15 of 42 (36%)

Let's now look at the teams that finished with fewer than 3 losses in SEC play, yet did not go to Atlanta:

    Year------School------------------Conference Record

    1992...........Georgia..................................6-2*
    1993...........Tennessee.............................6-1-1
    1993...........Auburn...................................8-0**
    1994...........Auburn...................................6-1-1**
    1995...........Tennessee.............................7-1

    1999...........Tennessee.............................6-2
    1999...........Miss State..............................6-2
    2001...........Florida....................................7-1*
    2002...........Florida....................................6-2
    2002...........Alabama.................................6-2**
    2003...........Florida....................................6-2*
    2003...........Tennessee.............................6-2*
    2005...........Auburn...................................7-1*
    2005...........Alabama.................................6-2
    2006...........LSU........................................6-2
    2006...........Auburn...................................6-2
    2007...........Georgia..................................6-2*
    2008...........Georgia..................................6-2
    2010...........Arkansas................................6-2
    2010...........LSU........................................6-2
    2011...........USCe......................................6-2
    2011...........Alabama.................................7-1
    2012...........Florida....................................7-1*
    2012...........USCe......................................6-2
    2012...........Texas A&M.............................6-2
    2012...........LSU........................................6-2

34 more teams had years good enough to go to Atlanta, but wasn't lucky enough to go, because there was a team in their division that was having an outstanding year at the time.

Of these 34 teams, 10 teams shared a division title with the winner, as having identical conference records as the winner. This was how Spurrier won his ACC title at Duke.

So the answer to the trivia question above is: ONE each.

Demanding a conference title, or even a trip to the game, requires more than skill. It requires a good deal of luck and timing. Arkansas, USCe and Alabama got to the title game with more than two losses. Seven teams stayed home with only one loss.

I don't think he can win the East in the next 3 years. Last year was his chance and he couldn't get it done. With arguably the best defense in school history, every conceivable bounce went our way, every critical penalty went our way, the critical unforced errors by the other team went our way, getting TAMU in it's first game of the season was huge plus, and getting LSU and South Carolina at home. All he had to do was beat the butt sniffers and we know how that went.

Next year he loses the heart and soul of the o-line, Harrison and Halapio, no matter how they struggle at times, and frankly I don't see help on the horizon if these backup guys can't get reps now. Throw in Kohene being a senior who can step it at multiple positions.....

Losing Easley, Jacobs, Watkins and Kitchens as seniors, Purifoy, Powell and Roberson who probably go early. That's 7 starters on D gone. We lose Trey Burton and the most consistant guy on the offense in Patton.

Lastly, I do not see the root of the offensive problems changing. That is the notion that UF has to over power, out physical and out tough every one they play with the offensive side of the ball. It is not a sustainable offensive philosophy and the lack of any kind of a 2 minute offense is a killer.
