I know everyone expects him to end up at UT, and I know he's high on our board but not at the top of it, what I don't know is where we stand...at all...with him. Has he visited UF yet?

His top 5 is Tennessee, Florida, Alabama, Texas, South Carolina.

Just because he has a top 5 it doesn't mean we have a 25% chance of landing him. Tenn has a lead on us.

I think he is a Vol and I actually dont think he is that high on our board. I think he is rated high so people assume he is high on our board. Others we are looking at are a better fit

We're in his top 5, which means we only have a 20% chance at landing him...

He's pretty excellent in coverage and for all the thumpers we've recruited at LB the last few years, I'm not so sure we couldn't use a player who can give us some coverage flexibility.

His daddy went to Tennessee and they have a lot of momentum going for them. I was just curious if anyone knew the gap from first-choice (UT) to second choice (UF). From what I've heard no one else even really has a chance.

He is good in coverage but its because of he is football smart and assignment sound.
Anzalone & Rolin are better athletes IMO and will be very good in coverage. This 2014 LB class should be all about pass rushers and finding that one MLB that can hit.

The gap seems to be pretty large between UT and Florida and I think (just a guess) part of that is we just are not pushing for him. He also has a good relationship with all of the UT recruits it is just the right fit for him especially with his dad being a former player. With Florida it is just close to where he grew up and people he grew up with can come to games. Florida should be able to find a better LB.

Yeah, and I'm sure the coaches would take DB, in a heartbeat, if he wanted to be a Gator.

I can understand the UT thing with his dad and all, don't really see UT as a contender in the SEC-East for a while.

I know this is off topic but what is the deal with Sony? I know its the good guys against the butt sniffers what are the odds we land him? We would have a NASTY RB class if we had him.

Bates was #58 just two months ago on 247 but is now #192. Does anyone know why he is plummeting so fast? Are teams withdrawing offers?

Is he plummeting or are other just rising? As more players are found others ratings might stay the same but drop in position. That is probably what is happening to Bates.

I'd rather get two of McMillan, Clifton Garrett, Christian Miller and Nyles Morgan. Starting to like Williams a lot though. He's faster than anyone in that group.
