Meyer -- 'Absolutely not true that I turned in the University of Florida'

What happened, according to an OSU spokesman, is someone in the OSU compliance office read an article on a recruiting site that indicated there might have been such occurrence, and the OSU compliance office sent a note to the Big Ten office to make it aware of the possible violation. Schools report such things to their league offices all the time, said the spokesman, who added that Meyer was not aware of the report until well after it was done. White was found not to have committed a violation.

Clay Travis article so who knows if its true. The guy is a hack and you really cant believe anything that he writes but it sounds some what plausible

My thoughts is this is who he is, a highly competitive person. People can say he coached at UF and shouldn't stoop to these tactics, but a Zebra is not going to change his stripes . He did the same stuff while at UF. Some people will say Muschamp would not do such a thing but all the great coaches and recruiters are like this in one way or another. It is just he nature of college football.

This kid ran a 4.36 40 yesterday at the Opening and of course Urban is telling him he is the "next percy Harvin"

The story is going to pop up on this forum, might as well keep it going AZ.

Apparently Urban Meyer turned Florida/Brian White in for a secondary "bump" violation.

Meyer is a great recruiter and at a Old timer school who now has to compete with Muschamp and UF for the quality of players he wants . OSU will pay for this going forward karma is a bitch ! Even the Sporting News thought it was bush league and the NCAA found no problem...

So friggin what and why is this even a story ? I dont know why its even being brought up even though if you read the entire article Sporting News makes Meyer out to be a douche in the matter for turning on an ex employer and employee he hired ! This smacks of collateral damage from the Ahern situation . Prepare to hear how some player in 06,07 or 08 got arrested for driving with a suspended license...

    5-star Miami commit laughs
    at Urban Meyer's sad face

Miami commit KC McDermott reportedly turned down Urban Meyer to his face. (247Sports)

"McDermott, a top-five offensive tackle according to 247Sports, committed to the hometown Miami Hurricanes in April. The West Palm Beach, Fla., native grew up a Miami fan, and his older brother, Shane, is expected to compete for the starting center position this fall after being named All-ACC Honorable Mention in 2012.

In a recent interview with Bleacher Report, McDermott told a story about the time he turned down Meyer and Ohio State in person. According to the Hurricanes' commit, Meyer "looked like he was a baby about to cry."

"The Urban Meyer thing was just funny to me. He came to my school a week after I told his assistant that I wasn't even interested in them," McDermott said. "I told him no to his face, and it's got to be one of the top five reactions of someone ever. His facial expression was just so funny. My coach was tearing up and had to go in his office and laugh."

After being asked to elaborate on Meyer's "funny" face, McDermott compared the two-time national championship winning coach to an infant.

"It literally looked like a kid the first time you tell him 'no, you can't do something.' It looked like he was a baby about to cry. It was so funny."

Not only is he not our coach anymore, he is the enemy. He should be as fondly remembered here as Nick Saban is in Baton Rouge. It would be less frustrating if we DID have a crack at him every year like LSU does Saban.

F Urban. If there was a way to erase his name from our history books, I would in a heartbeat.
