Other than the 4-8 finish...I think Morrison on field and off field was extremely disappointing.

Yet I'm ok with him barking at dogs if he's a terror in the middle. I like everyone was probably excited to hear he bulked up to 235ish....I mean he hit like a freight train at 212lbs, what would he do with the added weight?

Well he looked slow and lumbering....RB's beating him to the hole and the edge. Not to mention horrible in pass coverage. Seems he 's not the type that carries the weight well....at 212lbs he was all over the field and still packed a punch

    Maybe there's a happy medium around 221?

If he does nothing else I'm still forever indebted to him for the hit he laid on e.j.

Well, at 212 he was playing OLB where he had more room to run. At MLB getting beat to the edge is rarely even his responsibility, and he was leading the team in tackles before the injury, which isn't too shabby for a true sophomore playing that position for the first time.

I do think OLB is his natural position, so hopefully Davis can secure the MLB spot and Morrison can move back to OLB to get them both on the field at the same time.

I'm afraid that one hit is what his entire reputation was built on going into last year.

that hit aside...he just seemed so athletic his freshmen year. Going all the way back to the spring game. He looked awkward and slow last year....maybe he was thinking too much due to new position

guy like that needs to be in a "kill everybody" mindset...maybe making the defensive calls is too much to handle

I think you and Sean are on the right track.

Probably thinking too much. Also having to deal with more traffic - more OL getting on him.

We all remember Bostic when he was a beast as a Senior and played very well, but he had his growing pains, too.

and if we had some better health up front, this wouldn't have been as much of an issue either.

Very true. but let's not forget the "what have you done for me lately" mentality that is this society.

Cannot remember what team but an OL pushed him down like he was a lightweight. I wouldn't think he's too heavy.

Doubt he was really 235 and should not be playing Mike. We just didn't have any experience MLBs. We rarely have real MLBs such as Spikes. If our Tackles are not doing well our small MLBs get blown out.

I think Morrison is more natural outside as well. I don't know if Davis has a future as a MLB, but I would be very happy with Taylor and a healthy Anzalone manning the middle

    That was the missouri game.

https://vine.co/v/hdIPm91iVFj - here is the clip of him getting owned.

Morrison did not have a very good year. I think a lot of that was the move to a new position, because he played mostly for Jenkins last year and not Bostic. IDK about the weight, but he wasn't as tough or instinctive, and like many other people on the team, seemed to fold up shop a bit as the year progressed.

Hopefully next year will go better for him.

I will say, that the DL wasn't as good last year as 2012, and he had a lot more downfield blockers to contend with as well.

Also true, but it has been quite a while since his one highlight play. He's looked pretty bad much of the time since then, unfortunately.

People built up unreasonable expectations of him based on that one play. But how could you not get excited about that hit? There's a possibility that Morrison ley it go to his head too. Hopefully the events of the summer and his play this year will light a fire.

He's got a couple of more years to prove he's not a one-hit wonder.

Its not really an indictment of his ability. I believe he was asked to play out of position and he suffered from not being big enough. Bostic was a good example. He had some really good games over the years and I believe that he was a very good player but asking a guy to play MLB in the SEC in the 220 lb range is unfair. We constantly recruit too small LBs.
