If they go pro they have Karlos Williams and Ryan Green. Plus they will get a few RB's in this class

Why would anyone draft James Wilder Jr? What has he done?

Score goal line touchdowns and get dinged up immediately afterwards. I like the guy. He has pretty good balance and flexibility. But he's probably on the way to going undrafted if he leaves this year. He'll have to really impress some people at the combine to even sniff the top 5 rounds.

Coming into the year, it was well known that he would leave if he had a good season. He's been hurt this year, but I guess that won't change his mind since it's already made up. He does have a daughter to support so maybe that is playing a part in his (bad?) decision.

sort of strange for them to announce in the middle of the season.

I don't think they actually announced anything. It's just being reported that a recruit was told Wilder and Freeman were possibly turning pro, opening up carries in the backfield for a freshman.

NFL teams aren't fond of projects (as many here know).

The dude pissed away a lot of $$$ on pride (wanting to be RB like Daddy). Who knows, maybe some NFL team will see his innate athletic ability, leadership, work ethic and take an chance that they can teach a RB to play LB in the NFL. . .

I was joking in reference to his recruiting days. He is still a beast, would not shock me if he does well at the combine and gets drafted.

Wilder was talking to Mixon and Dalvin Cook. I don't think either will go pro this year. Jimbo probably told him to tell them that. No way Wilder goes. Freeman, maybe, but I doubt it. Just a ploy.

Hey, better do it when you are near the top. Never know what is going to happen next.

I think their RBs and WRs will pretty much all go pro. The ceiling is as high as it will get at the end of this season.

Joe Mixon and Shai McKenzie were there this weekend. It could certainly be true that they are going pro. We have told prospects that in the past that people are going pro or leaving the team. Lat year were telling TE's that Jordan Reed was going pro. We also said some of the freshmen DT's were not going to work out and we see one wa shown the door and the other was moved to OL.

We are in a unique situation were every recruit could compete for a starting job on our team next year except VH3's and Fowler's spots. I don't think anyone's job should be considered a lock but those.

RBs get drafted later now than years back.

It makes getting your degree a better choice than before.

If you fall into later rounds, at least you have the degree.
