When I got the bleacherreport update on this all I saw was Walker and I started flipping out....

Hopefully Devon has a quick and full recovery!

Get well Devon. Luckily, we are deep at the 2 and 3 positions.

Ugh. He was a guy I actually circled as a key contributor for next season, especially in our zones and presses. We really need two of Murphy, Robinson, and Francis to be ready to play.

If there is a year that we can overcome injuries, this upcoming one seems to fit the bill. Good luck in your rehab, DeVon.

Devon, get well, you are one of my favorite gator ballers! I know this is a big disappointment but this will make you a better player in the long run.The Florida staff will help you get stronger than ever and rain pain on the a SEC!

I feel bad for the guy. Hope he gets back to 100%. I don't think we're going to miss him this year though. I think he would have been better this year than last but not so much so that our loaded backcourt can't overcome his absence.

Man, I feel bad for him. He was starting to develop as a good player, and will be missed. Anyone know how he got hurt? Pickup game, I presume.

Me too...and I think we'll definitely miss his game experience.
Let's hope Robinson comes ready to play and defend.

For him, this could be a blessing in disguise. He's still on the skinny side and could benefit from the physical maturation a year will provide - assuming his knee recovers fully.

I am a big D-Walk fan. I think he's a high ceiling guy. You gotta feel bad for him. But this may prove to be a goid thing for him in the long run.

Like everyone I wish D.Walker well in his recovery.

I agree with your post, I thought he could be very important this coming season. That certainly changes the situation at the 3. It also affects the 2 some.

As usual, I'm with you rserina. Other than an injury in the short front court, he is about the worst one to lose for the season. This likely means that Murphy and Frazier will both play more 3.

Nah, Warlord. Frazier's shooting and Hill's experience at the one are far more important. If there is one position where Donovan system has immense flexibility, it would be the three. We've played small (Parker, Calathes, Beal, Rosario), long (Parsons, Yeguete), young (Miller, Walsh, Beal), shooters, slashers (Brewer, Prather)--just about everything. Between Frazier, Robinson, Francis, Murphy, and DFS, we have the bodies and skill sets necessary to run our stuff at the position and also necessary to defend it.

What I lament about the loss of Walker is what he brings defensively. He was outstanding last year as the point man in the press and in our 1-3-1, 2-3, and matchup zones. We don't really have anyone else with his combination of length, quickness, defensive versatility, and defensive commitment. He had a chance of being a real "poor man's" Brewer this year, in my opinion.

We would be better with him. There is no doubt. However, we can overcome this setback as we did last year with the numerous setbacks.

I saw the headline on ESPN and felt a drop in my stomach. Then saw it was Devon. This loss will hurt, but I am still glad it is Devon and not Chris.

Forget about Carter this season. He's not even playing right now.
