There is no such thing as a good play call unless it works.
Great call, just didn't catch it. And the throw was'nt that bad, IMO. Not great, but catchable. My only gripe is who they chose for the play. But I guess that was part of the surprise.
It's simple. I say it was bad call. You say it was good call. Play did not work. Who is more likely correct - me or you?
Him. You are insinuating that if it does not work, it can't be a good play call. Which is about as wrong as it gets
The play works, we probably have a chance to win the game. I like the call, just execution feel short and USC defended it good.
Come now. According to nortonis, there is no such thing as execution or the defending team. if it doesn't work, its a bad play call
I didn't like the call considering how conservative we were on offense in the second half. I'd rather let Skyler throw the ball than Trey. I agree though that if it works they look like geniuses, and it almost worked.

You really don't know as much about football as you think you know. Besides me this is the second person you have thrown out that 'who knows more' BS and its obvious your opinions haven't been popular.
That's how I felt watching the game. Play the field position game, there was plenty of time, 2 time outs, make them punt, possibly get a good return and a FG wins the game. I would've felt better about this call if it was 4th and 5 and the field position was a little better. You're asking an awful lot of a guy that doesn't throw the ball and a guy that doesn't catch the ball to convert a 13+ yard pass play. You need a lot of room for error, at 5 yards you probably have it, but a 300lb guy running a pass route over 10 yards usually doesn't go undetected.
I didn't say can't. You can never say can't. A 99% play call is wrong 1%!of the time. You insinuated that I am a moron for calling it a bad play. You would think you would only act that way if the play was actually successful. I merely asked who is more likely correct since the play didn't work.
and yet we were THAT close to it working and likely putting us in a great spot to ice the game. it was the right call, just not quite good enough execution.
Posting this again for the guy who says that he didn't say a good play call always works.
See. Here is a guy implying I'm an idiot if we throw a pass to a person not lining up at center.
The whole idea of the play was to catch them by surprise by throwing it to someone they are not expecting. That part worked. We caught them napping, and Orr just couldn't come down with it.
It was a great call. Not quite good enough execution by the players.
And what I'm saying is that if you are using Burton to throw to a DT, you could expect poor execution. Hence, bad play call.
So who throws it? You keep Skylar in there? Yeah they'll never expect a fake with him in there
It's 4th down and Burton is lining up for the snap. Did they think he was going to punt it?
Considering he hadn't been throwing it and hasn't been much of a threat to throw this season, no I don't think they thought he was going to throw it. Certainly not to a DT.
Then I guess it wouldn't have mattered if it was the center or a receiver going out for the pass since they wouldn't have expected a pass from Burton.
born its not worth anymore of your time lol
