I like the call I really do. Just have to finish the play
Orr was laughing but it was several minutes later. He looked incredibly athletic for a 6'5" 320 pounder, running a route at full sprint. Problem is, he's a 6'5" 320 defensive lineman in a super stressful situation. Asking him to make that catch is a very low percentage play even if it was a great throw, which it was not. Not a bad throw for Trey, but he was not wide open.
simply not true. go back to the game thread and look for yourself. in fact, look at every game thread this entire season and you'll see me actively pulling for my team. you're just an instiGator, get it?
exactly my point. great playcall, wrong target
Orr actually has very good hands. Good playcall, maybe wrong place, right target, didnt execute.
Fair enough, it's just that I've only seen you post negative stuff constantly. I lived through 0-10-1 and lived to tell the tale and so will you.
Besides, your time might be better spent with your newborn son than on these boards. Perspective and patience will serve you well as dad and a Gator
I mentioned this in another thread, but what was the rationale?
You play conservative the whole game, and when you finally throw downfield (relatively speaking), its a guy who hasn't thrown this year throwing to a defensive lineman?
Throw out of the wildcat to guys who were recruited to catch or play field position and let Orr do what he does best.
well it has to be someone who is normally on the punt team and not someone obvious like a WR. So who would you suggest?
Well which linemen would you have used then?
The entire play is based on the defense not covering the guy who hikes the ball.
If you put Patton in at Center it would have been a little obvious.
As concerning as having another teams coach in your avatar? lain:
I only post when he sleeps, which is often. please don't try to give me parenting advice. it will be me who sends him to UF. he could very well follow the footsteps of his uncle and be an all american at UF
anyone not over 300 pounds for starters
Ridiculous comment. Orr got up for the ball. It hit him in the hands. What the hell does his weight have to do with anything?
CWM had to try something, had to go for it there.
Orr played some tight end in high school
Well we discussed how important it is for a kicker to be a certain weight.....
Orr got up for the ball. never thought I'd hear that tonight.
look it was a great call, it really was. but you know they practiced it, just have someone with hands other than your starting DT strutting across the middle for the biggest play in the game. we had better odds of Skyler trying to win the game with his arm in the 2nd half than executing that play.
Agreed. There are a million things to complain about with these coaches. I don't think this is one of them. They took a gamble that strategically made sense and it fooled the defense. Orr a former TE just couldn't pull it down.

agreed. not the point of OP
