Dems are always in trouble in midterms since the average voter age is well over 70.

Pubs will be in trouble due to demos in the prez elections every 4 years for the forseeable future as the country grows more blue/purple everywhere.

Just like the pubs learned, if it's not reflected in polling it's unlikely to happen. Dems turn to learn I guess.
The article is right though, it's not as much about where the country is as a whole (dems actually lead slightly in the rcp generic congressional vote average) but more about where the elections are and who will turn out. Republicans are more energized right now for sure, they generally have an advantage in midterms and the senate states in this cycle are disproportionately purple/red. All points to a good year for them.

What is the implication regarding avg voter age over 70?

Curious of what you think of people who are 70+

They are both the GOP's most reliable demo and the primary watchers of Fox News.

Dems have trouble in midterms because midterms are when people who understand more about the issues and are actually invested in the quality of governance we get still can be arsed to show up. Hard to bus enough people around with instructions to vote Democrat without the cult of personality of a Presidential campaign to rally them to.

Sea-change here in North Carolina. As a result, GOP candidates are becoming more and more confident that they can move to the right.

Hey, "dude", why the driveby "disagree" on the previous posts? A guy on the ground in North Carolina is telling you how the candidates are behaving, and you disagree? Maybe you should educate yourself and read those posts.

Of course the irony here is that Andy Griffith was a liberal Democrat.

I live in North Carolina...the problem isnt the "legal" voters. The problem here is illegal ones voting....twice.

    Cute response though.

It looks like conservatives in North Carolina are growing a backbone and getting more confrontational about the mess that democrats have created.

If states were really concerned about people voting twice and illegals voting they could make it a felony and a loss of voting rights for 10 years or some with possible jail-time and a fine... Illegals would ge3t fingerprinted, jailed and sent back to their nation after their sentence.

That would clean-up 98% of all that crap instantly.
