Seems to be an easy mixup when you do a casual search as her homepage calls her that too. I don't know if that is kosher or not. Good pickup that she is a non-voting member.

That is a very misleading website, I agree. Deep in the FAQs:

And, of course, what she doesn't say in that FAQ is that Congress changed its rules and she no longer has Committee as a Whole voting power. And, when Congress did have rules that allowed it to operate as the Committee of the Whole (which is typically for completely non-controversial matters) and a non-voting delegate (whether from DC, American Samoa, the Virgin Islands, Guam or Puerto Rico) had a deciding vote, the vote is retaken and their votes are excluded.

Despite the apparent effort at either self-aggrandizement or to make citizens of the District think their vote actually matters when they elect her, I think she should state "Congressional Delegate" on her website, not "Congresswoman," so as not to mislead the public.

I think this is an intentional rhetorical strategy given DC's push for statehood/congressional voting representation.

There may be an element of conceit/misdirection in calling yourself "congresswoman," but I do think if you feel like you should have full voting rights, you're not going to "normalize" your second-class status by refering to yourself as "non-voting delegate" or whatever either.

I am appalled at the prospect of a politician misrepresenting something. Destroys all of my faith in them. Or it would if I had any.

I was talking about the misrepresentation on the page of the woman in the original article but Christie is a politician so I'm sure he fits too.

Six one way, half a dozen another. Both parties do this and they can be quite petty going so far as to move parking spots. Republicans have not invited a gay republican group in the past based on that one issue. How is that not towing the party line?

When Christie said Obama did a good job handling the Sandy hurricane aftermath it falls in your category too then, I guess. He certainly received backlash from the Republican establishment for those comments. I mean heaven forbid Obama do even one thing we can agree with. This is why our moronic dualistic system needs to be trashed.
