Neighbors a few houses down the street are generally a friendly couple with a couple of kids and a humongous dog. The one thing that other neighbors and ourselves have brought to their attention is that their humongous dog drops humongous loads on our lawns, driveways, etc. The couple simply don't walk their dog and clean up after him or make sure that their dog does his thing in a location that is not offensive to the neighborhood. Other neighbors and ourselves prefer to not get animal control involved.

    Solution---

Discovered that our neighbor's dog loves coffee(with lots of cream and sugar) and baked beans. So we decided to treat our neighbors dog to the treat of coffee and baked beans. Lots of coffee and lots of baked beans. Dog drank about a quart of coffee and ate a lot of baked beans. Needless to say, our neighbor opened his door to let his dog bake in the house after dropping a load in a neighbors driveway. The couple then left the house for the day with their kids. Dropping kids off for school then both husband and wife heading to work for the day.

when the couple got home, neighbors were standing around in their yards talking, working, etc. Couple went into their yard and you could hear the swearing from a good distance away. If you don't know---coffee is a bit of a laxative. And combine with the baked beans pretty much made the house rather smelly and nasty.

outcome---the couple now has their kids walking the dog or doing the chose themselves.

Glad you didnt OD the dog on caffeine.

Real effective also is to go have a conversation with the neighbor rather than take it out on the dog.

Yeah, maybe you could have given the coffee and beans to the neighbor.

    Pretty funny anyway.

So torture the family pet. Nice.

Had a similar situation in the past and just bagged up the crap and put it on the front doorstep.

    Message was eventually understood.

Could have scooped up the dog's "adobe village" with a shovel and launched it against their front door jai-alai style. That would have been pretty sweet.

Or, you could have done this

I think shoveling the shit and leaving it on their door step with a note would've been a better move.

Poor dog probably got verbally or physically abused after it probably paced the house for a hour before it could no longer hold it. Hopefully the dog isn't a crate dog or it would've had to stay in a crate covered in his own feces all day because some guy was pissed at his owner.

we packaged their dogs with our dogs and did the doors and windows. mix a little water to get a thick slurry and launch it with a shovel. haven't had a problem since

    Winner!
I would not make a dog sick either. I might wait with my bb gun for a cat who keeps dropping dead mice on my doorstep instead of upstairs where it lived.

Siding with dog. Use your creativity to sanction the inconsiderate a$$holes and leave the dog alone. He's doing what he is born to do. Collect the crap and put in front of any door and under any window now that we are getting into Fall.

Better yet take your morning dump on their walk. You've got ask WWHSTD?

sometimes talking doesn't work. had an issue with next door neighbor blowing his leaves into our driveway rather than bagging them. my driveway is long narrow and uphill, and autumn is kinda damp here, those wet leaves made it difficult to get some of my cars out of the driveway. talking to him didn't help. i'd hear the blower, and see him out the window blowing leaves, then looking around to see if anyone was looking, then blow them in our driveway. this went on for years. snow also. finally, disgusted, i got a big broom, knowing he and his wife were both home, and proceeded to make quite the show of sweeping them back into THEIR yard and driveway, along with OUR leaves, with great flourishing movements to make the point. that's actually what stopped him.

however, with caffeine and dogs, i might find something else to do, like bagging the poop and putting it back in their yard, as caffeine can kill a dog or cat. glad they learned though, bad neighbors suck.
