Oh please! Why would a west coast coach that is having his way at Stanford want to come to Florida?

This really wasn't the question. It wasn't "Why doesn't Shaw want to come to UF?" I expressly stated that I doubt he'd ever come. My question was, "Why don't UF fans clamor for JF to hire Shaw the way they do the usual suspects?"

Perhaps my original point was not clear in my post. I was attempting to point out the similarities between UF and Stanford as programs and view David Shaw coming to UF as a near lateral move. Why would he make a lateral move?

Again, I compared nothing about academic requirements or the need to recruit nationally between the programs, but fact is, California is a fertile recruiting state for Stanford (30 on 2013 roster), USC, UCLA, Cali, as well as many other schools.

People aren't going to like hearing this, but for a myriad of reasons, Florida and Stanford are not on "lateral" grounds anymore...and I am referring to the state of the athletic dept/football programs. They are a superior gig. Anyone who thinks otherwise is a straight up homer. That is how far we have fallen...this has been one of the most devastating collapses of a program I have witnessed in modern college football. Really only matched by USC and Texas.

As hard as it is for some to believe many HCs are happy where they are.
