Actually, there have been great teams that have consistently won with great defense and no high-scoring offense. If, this season, we can win the rest of our games with scores like 17-6, we will not be a team of potential, we will be a great team.

But, first (and foremost) we have to cut back on the turnovers. And, we have to see exactly how great this year's defense is. I think there's a chance we're as underrated as Danielson says, but we'll see...

We are certainly in a "buzz-free" zone...even before the loss to Miami. But, sometimes it's good for a team's soul to be completely overlooked

Yes but making your game plan around college kids not making mistakes can be very disapointing.

if uf is scoring 30-40 points per game they can afford 2-3 turnovers. When they score 16-20, they can't afford any. Just run the ball and eat clock and hope none of the RBs fumble again.

One must hope Miami was our Georgia from last year and we run the table in the SEC. It's very doable. Georgia, Carolina and LSU are all very beatable. This season still has a lot of life yet.

Swampmeister, maybe you will give us a rundown of which teams are scoring 30-40 points per game with 2 or 3 turnovers--against competent competition. Particularly in SEC play.

I am beginning to think that many Gator fans would be happier with arena football. Or maybe the problem is the explosion of fantasy football, in which everyone gets to draft playmakers at every position so they can satisfy their fantasies.

On another level, I simply do not understand the fascination with throwing the ball all over the field. In my opinion, and I am repeating myself, there is nothing on a football field more satisfying than a long, well executed drive featuring a dominating running game; with enough passing mixed in to keep a defense honest. There are just so many moving parts synchronized in a well executed running play. The other beautiful part of football is a brutal defense that has the offense almost afraid to snap the ball.

Winning the TOP with O turnovers still won't guarantee any wins.

Not TOP in a vacuum, and nobody has claimed just TOP will win games.

We've dominated both of our first two opponents thoroughly in every sense including TOP... except for TOs with Miami.

If we protect the football, we win.

Great point. Some are most definitely confused about that distinction. Repped again.

No complaints about this but we aren't even a blip on the radar screen right now. This game used to be HUGE for us and UT and was talked up all over the media.

    Today........:bored:

If we win our games I don't care how ugly it is.

    A W is a W....:santa:

Yeah he does a great job. Not sure if I agree with his assessment of our team and I'm not sure that I disagree, but he knows his ball and I'm glad we have him in the sec. He doesn't just state the obvious during games, he always shows the viewer something the typical fan doesn't always see.
