Florida starting NG Damien Jacobs out today, did not travel to Missouri. Injured last week vs. LSU

    Bryan Holt ‏@Bryan_Holt 29s
#Florida officially announces both DT Damien Jacobs and LB Ronald Powell out for today's game.

This is getting ridiculous. It will be interesting to see if they take the redshirt off Bostwick or Ivey now. With Powell out they might take it off both

How many guys are we redshirting? I don't get redshirting so much on defense. The yearly cap of 25 is more than what you can sign over a 4 year period anyway. And what do you get with a redshirt? You get an extra year of weights and practice, but if they leave early for the NFL, you lose that anyway.

Seriously. Let's just forfeit the rest of the games. I'm so over the injuries.

Please coaching staff, please take the redshirt off of Bostwick and maybe Ivey. We still have half the season left. We are going to be raw on the line next year. We need these guys to get some experience. Please do it.

The leaving early part is a big "if". Leon Orr will be on the team next year.

Agree. Missouri has more of an outside running game, so not sure how much the DT's will play/rotate, but it's a valid discussion. After Easly went down I'm surprised they didn't take the redshirt off Bostwick, even if for just mop up duty or a few downs per game. But, here we are in Game 7 and in need of a DT.

I dont think they are worried one bit about about how "raw" they will be next year. We only lose one player (Jacobs) off the Dline. And only 2 off the front 7 (Kitchens) if they play it is because of need now.

We're losing Easley and Jacobs. I know Easley isn't playing right now, but we're only rotating 2 or 3 total people at the two tackle positions right now. Leon, Cummings, and Bullard. I'm surprised we haven't seen Daniel M. out there much, or Anzalone (both at LB, not tackle lol). Actually the most surprising person missing from the front 7 has been McCalister. I've heard nothing but good things about him

Which brings me to this: I expect to see Alex McCalister playing today

Caleb Brantley went beast in the alla american game. What's holding him back? Size? Injury?

I'd only redshirt a kid if they had absoluteky no chance of making any impact. Hell, he may be starrting next year. 6 games experience would be extremely valuable towards '14.

My guess is Cox plays more and Bullard moves inside more today.

Jarrad Davis is a head of Anzalone. Daniel is a back up Sam so he is probably behind Kitchens and Ball if they need another Sam. I actually think Rollin might have played if he hadnt torn his knee again. I always thought McCalister would need two years on the bench despite what the staff was saying.

Out of all of those people I expect Davis to play today. Bullard goes inside all game then they play Cox more. Also Kitchens or Ball play Sam more if the decide to play some 3 man fronts which then give Davis some playing time at Will.

Davis was a late pickup. It sounds like it's really paid off. He seems like a good kid, too. If Powell isn't able to play today, and with Jacobs out, there's going to be a lot of weird rotating today. I have no idea if we go for Cox at DE, Bullard at DT, and Fowler at Buck to make up for the lack of depth, or do we push Fowler to DE, and use somebody else at Buck/use the Buck less?

Good grief, UF is a complete mash unit. A number of the guys actually playing are walking wounded, as well.

This is going to be tough today

Why not? When is the last time our offense hasn't shat its pants in a featured television game against a decent opponent going back to 2010? Only Fsu 2012 IIRC.

LSU & USC, we managed 237 yards of total offense and 14 points vs LSU last year. In fact, we put up a whopping 61 yards through the air. The D won that game. Same for USC: 183 total yards. That's less than 200....hello! 94 passing/89 rushing. SC turned it over 4 times....again, the D won that game.

I'm not sure what O you were watching. Our O looked good vs. FSU (yet, still didn't gain 400 yards).
