Yeah, it doesn't look good at all because it shows that he is willing to hear from UM and FSU because of Florida's lackluster year, yet Florida can get him to sign a FAA too. We'll know on 12/14 when commits to a school. Not the end of the road if he de-commits. It also looks like he fractured his fibula last week, so probably wont be able to showcase his skills by Spring game?

That's why they got him to sign the agreement, so they can have unlimited contact with him.

Interesting, did not know it works this way. So why wouldn't we have had him sign same agreement months ago so we can have unlimited?

Taylor was lucky, he would have been on the bench playing mop up duty if Matt Jones would have never gotten injured. So DC would be behind at least KT and MJ, potentially Mack Brown(SR) and Adam Lane. Plus Kelvin Taylor will be getting the majority of carries for the next two years wheather or not Dalvin Cook goes to UF. So yes UF would be happy if they landed Cook but be more than okay without him.

I dont agree with this. I think Taylor was going to eventually play. I also believe Cook plays early at UF he brings something to the table that the other RB's dont.

It could turn out that way but would the better RB be on the bench in that case?
Behind for what, maybe a season? Mack's gone end of next season, Adam Lane- gosh bless him- hasn't played a down yet but I hope he absolutely kills it. We're just not that deep.

You seem to be saying Jones, Brown, Lane are behind Taylor. Maybe they are, and maybe should be. But quite a few posters believe Cook is better than Taylor. Maybe they are equals if used to their own strengths? That seems reasonable.

I would have liked two RBs in this class just because Matt Jones might be injury prone, Taylor's not injury proof(nobody is), Lane is untested at this level, and Mack is gone after next year. We have to get a good RB(to be secure) and I hope it's Cook.

I get that he is fast, but would be the ssmallest running ba

You put down Adam lane by saing he hasnt played a down yet but neither has cook. Also matt Jones, Adam lane and kelvin Taylor for at least two more years. He may very well be bbetter than all the backs at UF right now but remember Mack Brown was the 4th best RB out of high school and didn't end up the way most thought he would.

    No, I told the truth.

Says who? Jones can go pro after next season. If he does our stable is Taylor, Lane, Cook(?). If he doesn't Jones, Taylor, Lane, Cook. Sounds good me.

Yet you include him to make your case we don't need Cook.

    By the way, Bama recruited 5 RBs 2012 and 2013. Auburn took 7 2011, 2012, 2013.

What I am trying to express is that Dalvin cook is not guaranteed to make an instant impact and that without him UF would be fine. And my comparison to Mack Brown is because he was supposed to be a game changer yet is behind a non ESPN 300 recruit in Matt Jones. Just look at UGA two years ago their stud recruit was Marshall, but he too sits behind a non ESPN 300 recruit in Gurley. Don't get me wrong I would love to see him become the next Adrian Peterson and take the heisman as a freshman for UF. But if not then i believe that the stable of backs at UF now can produce with a full healthy oline.

Marshall played immediately... he never sat. And DC would play quckly too.

He has the physical tools and skills to excel in a hybrid slot/rb role, that would fit nicely in the uptempo spread option offense we reportedly are moving to.

With the spread offense coming back I believe Cook can help bring a different dimension.

I dont understand the people trying to downplay cook's importance. Nobody was saying these things when he was fully committed so why say it now?? He wouldnt be guaranteed PT but if we go to the spread like people have been saying hed be a better fit for that system than any other back we have. Even if we dont he still has a different skill set than our other backs

Oh the good news! That is huge. Must also mean that he has been given an idea of what the offense will look like. Big get for the good guys.
