I figured people were going to scrutinize that selection. It was hard to go against Carolina, but I decided to take a chance with a surprise for that half of the bracket.

I'll take UNC-Vandy in the championship series. Seems like that's where this season has been headed for awhile.

What no SEC team in the finals? You may be right, but I cant go with that. Think this might finally be the year Vandy baseball wins in Omaha. I would take them to beat UNC, and keep the ACC futility alive.

I only root for 1 SEC team, the rest can.....

I actually had UNC in finals vs Beavs,, but we saw 2 straight years of that not to long ago. Really like the NC St squad,, going to be tough to beat in a 3 game series w/ Rodon leading the way.

Also really like Avent. Wish he didnt have such strong ties to NCST,, surely AU could throw him more coin...lol

NCSU is dangerous and while I am not particularly high on FSU doing much this postseason due to the lack of offense, FSU did win 2 of 3 in Raleigh.

Gonna try to make it to a game or two of the Clemson-South Carolina regional assuming the meet up. I'll tell you what, when those two lock up, at least at Carolina Stadium, it is a lot of fun. These two don't like each other... at all. I almost want to say it is, across the board, every bit as nasty as FSU-UF, especially among the old timers.

As for Omaha... gimme UNC, NCSU, CSF, LSU, Vandy, FSU, Mississippi State, Oregon State... Vandy-UNC final... as much as I am not into the whole conference thing, it would be kinda nice to see the ACC get off the shnide... gimme Vandy.

I'd like to see an all SEC final. That, along with the football dominance, will continue to drive the rest of the country crazy.

The field is set. The first four will play Saturday. The second group on Sunday.

    Mississippi State
    Oregon State

    Indiana
    Louisville

    UNC
    NC State

    LSU
    UCLA

-Only 3 national seeds advanced to Omaha.
-However, all 8 teams did enter the tournament as #1 seeds.
-UCLA is the only repeat participant from 2012.
-LSU and Oregon State are the only former champions in the field.
-Oregon State, Mississippi State, and Louisville are all making their first appearance since 2007.
-NC State is in for the first time since 1968.
-Indiana is making their first ever trip, and are the first Big 10 team to make it to Omaha since 1984.

Give it up to WES. He was the only one to correctly predict 5 of the 8 teams before the start of the tournament.

One more note that I stole from Aaron Fitt on Baseball America. This is the first CWS since 1990 with zero teams from Texas or Florida.

Miss St could be a surprising team here, but LSU has to win it this year, I feel it's the SEC's only chance.
